Keep Starting Rush/Big Game for Rush!/Rush Party (Merged)

I have been impressed with Rush in the last couple of games. I also noticed that in games he has started, he's played very well. He's started 9 games this season and put up these numbers:
37.5 mpg
13.2 ppg
5.9 rpg
1.3 apg vs 1.6 to
1.1 stl
0.9 blk

His shooting is pretty much unchanged in starts versus coming off the bench which is to say that it's not very good. Still, he's looking like a solid player. I think that this is especially important for him at the conclusion of the season because his confidence seems to be so frail. It would be nice to see him finish out the last month getting meaningful minutes.

The real reason he needs to keep starting: the team has been playing MUCH better defense the past five games. I don't think we have given up more than 95 points in any of those games.

He rattles in and out so many shots...

But he's looking like a legitimate starter.

A legitimate starter? Maybe a legitimate player but.... I can't really think of any other team in the league in which Brandon Rush would be the starting SG

I would say a legitimate starter for the future. Not this season, but his future looks birght.

As a rookie no, I think he meant down the line.

I'm starting to think Rush will be an Eddie Jones caliber player. Brandon Rush has perfect form on his shot, so many of them go in and out, and usually when a shooter has perfect form on their shots, they start to fall eventually. To go with that, this guy will be a lock down defender, hes the second best perimeter defender we've had in the last 16 years outside of Artest and hes still just a rookie.

I think the future is bright for Brandon Rush, I said the same about Danny Granger when not many others did. I seriously see a lot of potential in him, when a player can do everything well and has work ethic, they always have potential to get better.

Yeah, I meant future. He isn't there yet, and he isn't the most athletic guy, but he has the smarts to keep ahead of the curve and continue to improve his game. He will evolve into a solid player.

His defense alone will keep him in the league as a solid rotation player. The fact that he does have a very good jump shot and he is actually a strong slasher (even though Obie's system doesn't allow him to do so) is icing on the cake. He will be legit. His progress has made me rethink drafting a shooting guard in the upcoming draft. I like our wings. Not sold on the point yet, but I like Granger at SF and Brush at SG for the future.

Danny Granger was compltely different. Everyonr was high on the Pacers getting him. The Pacers had him as the 4th best player on their draft board. Bill Walton called him a "star in the making" All the media outlets (espn, si, cbssports, fox etc.) praised the Pacers haveing such a great draft (granger and erazem lorbek)

On the other hand... I never heard much praise for Rush outside of Indiana circles. Most mock drafts had Rush going in the 20-30 range... while Jerryd Bayless was projected from 5-10.... so we get lucky and draft Bayless then trade him for Rush? If we wanted Jarret Jack that bad we should have just swapped picks, kept diogu, and draft Rush whenever the swapped pick would have occured

There is 5 seconds to go into today's game vs the Bulls and B Rush has 29 pts. What is good to see is that he has made 13 of 19 from the field but only 4 attempts and 2 make were from 3. This means he has made 11 2-point field goals. This is the first flash I have seen from Rush that leads me to beleive he could be out starting SG of the future

Man you haven't been watching much then. He has come on STRONG lately. Today might be the first day that his offense has shown the big time promise, but he has been absolutely sensational defensively.

Great offensive game by Rush.
His defense was again very solid. Nothing sensational tough. He clearly has his troubles with the quicker guards à la Gordon.

From what I saw Gordon did most of his damage against TJ, I thought Rush had a strong defensive game again. His offensive game was by far the best of his young career, kudos for him for continuing to work hard and develop. And kudos for Obi for putting him in the starting lineup!

We all have been waiting for this to happen. Brush finally delivers on both ends of the floor.
I expect a bright future for Brandon and the Pacers.

K...then perhaps you aren't very perceptive? I dunno, but he has been looking good for a few weeks now. Yesterday's game was the first time his offense has started looking good.
