I really want to see a game at...

Playing for 9th Seed

Starting Lineups

Point Guard
Image - Image
Jarrett Jack, partially responsible for the impressive win over Detroit on Saturday, looks to lock down one of the best offensive point guards in the league. All-Star Mo Williams is a threat from everywhere on the court, able to shoot at extremely efficient percentages. With him on the court, LeBron James becomes more dangerous, with Mo Williams taking offensive pressure off of James.

Shooting Guard
Image - Image
Delonte West is enjoying a good season, but unless he's in rhythm, Rush should focus his energies to switching onto James and Williams at times. Rush finished strong against Detroit, proving that early-game woes won't faze him anymore, and that he can be a strong offensive threat on any given night. This will be extremely important if Indiana wants to pull out a victory against the mighty Cavaliers.

Small Forward
Image - Image
LeBron, frontrunner for the MVP race, meets Granger, the not-frontrunner of any race. However, Granger will get a chance to show the league that he deserves to be called an all-star. Granger's considerably low shooting percentage is a product of three major factors: injury, volume of three-pointers, and LeBron James. Granger must step up to the plate and stay with LeBron or it's going to be a long night.

Power Forward
Image - Image
Both rebounding experts, Anderson Varejao is a hustle player that excels at drawings fouls and growing hair. Troy Murphy must be careful when using his pump-drive maneuver. His double-double count for the season is tied for the franchise record, and he performs well, not only will it be a Pacers victory, but also a Troy Murphy career game. The battle of the boards against the excellent frontcourt rebounding of the Cavs may very well decide the margin.

Center
Image - Image
Big Z is a savvy veteran that Hibbert would do well to be careful against. While his foul troubles have been kept at bay, they may bother him as Ilgauskas use his assortment of wily post moves to bait Hibbert. Hibbert has been doing a good job of baiting his opponents into fouling him, resulting in great numbers for a rookie center in the last few games.

The Key Reserves

The Bench

T.J. Ford continues to play great off the bench. Had he been the 6th man the whole year, he may have been a candidate for 6th man of the year. Daniel Gibson is a streaky shooter, so keeping him cold and disrupting Wally Szcerbiak will be the key to holding the Cavs to low bench productivity.

The Coaches

Image - Image
Jim O'Brien does not appear to be on the tank train, and will do whatever he can to get the Pacers to 9th seed. Mike Brown is coaching a team on the verge of breaking a home record record, which means that this is not a must-win for Cleveland.

Injury Report

Final Points

-Contain the guards. We've been torched too many times. Disrupt their rhythm and play them smart.
-Lebron has a force field around him. Enter it at risk of getting a foul call.
-9th seed or BUST! Speaking of busts...

Ahhh yes, beautiful thread. I made mine first though, so if you could go ahead and just delete this, that'd be great. It took me 15 seconds to make, so you know.

Go Pacers!

And please delete my thread, if possible as if it never existed.

I thought it be kinda fun to play a basketball trivia game. I figured if I do it here there can be faster answers and questions between Pacer talk. If you don't want to play you can ignore me, much like many posters probably do already :D

How many players have recorded a quadruple-double in the NBA? If possible, name a player. Who is the last player to get a quadruple-double?

Oh yeah, please don't look up the answer. If you know the answer you can post a question that you may need to look up the answer to (for example, I knew the last player to get a quadruple-double, but I didn't know how many people have ever gotten one).

Since some statistical categories weren't recorded, some older players who for sure got some (Wilt, Big O, etc.) aren't counted.....

Hakeem Olajuwan
David Robinson

I think 4 people have gotten them

That last one was one of those two I posted, probably Hakeem in my guess.

I think Alvin Robertson had one...and Olajuwon had one, but it may have been taken away.

That's all I can think of off the top of my head.
I have no idea what you're talking about, and clearly, neither do you.

I think one of the big guys had one back in the 70's, either Zelmo Beaty or Nate Thurmond.

Nice. Yeah, it was 4. Hakeem and Robinson have both gotten them. Robinson was the last one to get one back in 94. The other 2 were Alvin Robertson and Nate Thurmond...

Something else I found very interesting: On March 3, 1990, Hakeem Olajuwon of the Houston Rockets was credited with 29 points, 18 rebounds, 10 assists, and 11 blocks in a game against Golden State.[6] However, after the game the NBA stripped Olajuwon of one assist, leaving him one short of a quadruple double.[7][8] The NBA does not recognize this as a quadruple-double,[9] although he is credited with 10 assists in his career stats. I knew Olajuwon had one taken away, but I didn't know he actually got another.

Cavs fan here.. nice game thread.

This might be an easy one.. when's the last time two players have recorded triple doubles in the same game while being on the same team.

I know MJ and Pippen did it, but I think there's been one since then. Maybe somebody with Kidd?

Yes. Kidd and Carter did it in 2007, I believe MJ and Pippen did it was in '89.

Edit: Mo and Lebron were close this year (Mo was 2 rebounds short)..
