Indy???

Does it bother anyone that does not live in Indianapolis that almost everyone refers to the Pacers as Indy in short? I've never had a problem with it too much (because I'm used to it and am from there), but some of my family members do. I mean, Indy IS short for Indianapolis and NOT Indiana. Just wondering if anyone else has thought about this. Feel free to delete this, just didn't know where to post it but wanted to ask.
Opinions?

Not really a big deal, especially when you consider it's Indianapolis who is paying for them and not anyone else.

yah, i've been sketching basketball jerseys with just "Indy" on it, in gold and white with royal blue trims, and it looks nice.
Hope the Pacers could don a casual alternative jersey with just INDY instead of Indiana..

I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for that to happen.

I think we should change our team colors to pink and coral (clashing, I know, but it makes a statement). But seriously, we called the T'Wolves Minny, and they're in the same boat with the Minnesota vs. Minneapolis thing.

Do you think the logos and text would be better in pink or coral. I'm terribly partial to the perrywinkle blue as well, could we include that?
^^^ I hope someone gets that or I'll look like a nonce.

Snatch. And it's spelled periwinkle. I am the official RealGM spell-checker, but only because I care.

Well it's definitely better than being called "Ana" for short.

Actually, Indy can be short for Indiana. In Indiana Jones, he is often referred to as "Indy", unless his full name is Indianapolis, which would make his name Indianapolis Jones teheheheh.

I've lived in Indiana all my life. I don't now, nore did I ever live in Indianapolis. But still I here people including myself tell people from out of state that I live in Indy. Referring to Indiana and not Indianapolis. So I think it's just where your from. I have lived in a lot of small towns and a few big ones. Portland, Winchester, Union City, Lynn, South Bend, Muncie, Modoc, Losantville, New Castle, Mishawaka, and now Anderson. I've heard everywhere I go. So in summary no I think it's fine.
