Samuel Dalembert

Samuel Dalembert will probably be back. But that doesn't mean Dalembert really wants to be back or that Sixers team president Ed Stefanski wants him back.

Dalembert's contract and his maddening inconsistency are the problems.

Given those factors, Stefanski's best shot at moving Dalembert might be for a big-money player another team wants to dump.

If they lose Andre Miller this summer...then this could open the door for a Tinsley+filler for Dalembert swap. Dreaming? Maybe? I actually like Dalembert. Toss aside the fact that he is wildly overpaid, he does add some shot blocking, rebounding, and a little athleticism to our front line.

Only in a Tinsley deal and even then I don't know, he makes 10+ million, we have enough over paid players.

I agree, only in a deal involving Tinsley, but if it did involve Tinsley, I'd be all for it. He can actually play, unlike Jamaal.

There have been a lot of reports that he is a cancer though.

Really? Damn him. I'd probably still do it. Tinsley has got to go.

Meh, the more I think about it, the more I don't like it - even with Tinsley.

Hes a cancer and will only hurt Hibberts development. Dalembert doesn't have the personality to mentor Hibbert, he has a huge contract, and 10+ million for a bench player is way too much.

Wow. I still want to know how he is a cancer, and you realize that any production he gives us is still more than Tinsley will give us? I'd rather have someone earn $4 million of a $10 million contract than someone earning $0 of a $7 million contract.

"But he clashed almost immediately with new coach Jim O'Brien, who didn't feel that Dalembert made the right rotations on defense or fit into his scheme offensively."

Its a 76ers forum where they all hate Dalembert and call him a cancer.

Also, I just looked it up, he makes almost twice as much as Tinsley. Trading Tinsley isn't going to help the team when we just add a more expensive cancer.

Well, doesn't look like he's a fit here then. If O'Brien had problems with him previously, then I don't see how we could bring him in.

We could only afford Dally if we move two of our highest paid contracts, meaning Tinsley along with either Dunleavy or Murphy. No one's going to move for Dunleavy right now, meaning we'd have to move Tinsley and Murphy for something like Dalembert and Willie Green.

Anybody in favor of a Tinsley/Murphy for Dalembert/Willie Green deal?

Didn't think so.

With Larry Bird running the show, you got to think he's only going to get high character players in here. As DGrangeRx33 stated, Dalembert is a bad player to have in the locker room. I actually admire and respect his talent's, but have read in the past that he isn't exactly the greatest teammate. That said, we may as well close this thread, as any questionable player will not be dealt for by Bird. That's a guarantee. He's still trying to fix this team "on the fly" and getting a bad piece, at this time, just won't happen.
