I was driving home from work today and while listening to JMV "The Drive" he said the Pacers were holding a "major" news conference tomorrow to announce that the Pacers will be playing Denver in China in October for a preseason game, as well as Danny Granger getting the MIP award...or at least one of the two for sure. Either one is awesome. Good for the Pacers.

Congrats to Danny Granger!!!! That is exciting. I can't believe he actually got the award, after all, David Stern has banished the Pacers to NBA purgatory. Big, big deal. So happy for Danny.

I'm surprised. I figured DG would be at a disadvantage since he played on a bad team in a small market. This is just another step for him in the right direction. Hopefully, he builds off of it and continues to improve his overall game. Congrats to Danny.

Danny is the third Pacer this decade to win MIP. That's kind of bizarre. He joins Jalen Rose (2000) and Jermaine O'Neal (2002).

Ricky (Indianapolis, IN): What do you think of Danny Granger reportedly earning the NBA's Most Improved Player award? I feel he is very deserving, most people ignored the play of the Pacers this past year. Some could argue Murphy and not Granger was the most improved on the team. Any thoughts?

SportsNation Chad Ford: He had my vote. There were good arguments for other guys, but Granger went from being a good player to a potential superstar this year. Watching him toward the end of the season, I saw him still improving. If he becomes a lock down defender, he could be the key to the Pacers becoming a contender again.

Chad Ford loves us. He won me over and is one of my favorite dudes on ESPN.

He really does love us. Specifically, he loves David Morway. Anytime a GM job opens, he always is singing David Morway's praises. Which I read as, David Morway talks to Chad Ford a lot and gives him some good information.
