A Man Can Dream, Can't He?

So I was daydreaming today and I thought, what if we won the lottery? Then what if we traded that pick?
Now I know this isn't realistic and none of these trades will happen, and we would prob just keep Blake since he fits our need, but I thought it would be fun to think, what if...
So here is my first "unrealistic" trade here with realgm.
Please be nice
1st:
We win the Draft Lottery and Draft Blake Griffin
2nd:
Trade Griffin to the Thunder for 4th pick (jordan Hill) and Jeff Green
3rd:
Trade Green, Hibbert, and future 1st to Portland for Oden and filler
4th:
If at the trade deadline Dunleavy and Murphy are playing very well and McGrady doesn't fully recover from his surgery...
Murphlevey to Rockets for McGrady
5th:
Foster, Tins to Dallas for Dampier
PG: Jack, Ford, Travis
SG: McGrady, Rush
SF: Danger, Rush, FA
PF: Hill, McBob
C: Oden, Dampier
So I know none of these trades will prob happen but if you take a step into Fantasy with me, what would this fantasy world look like?

Sounds like a bad plan to me.

I'd rather keep Griffin and Hibbert. Griffin is going to be a franchise player, even more then Granger is or ever will be for the Pacers (if the Pacers could get him)

Other than the fact that I doubt OKC would overpay by trading Green and the #4 for Griffin, I think all the other deals really make us worse each step.
I like Oden, but if you can get Green and the #4 for Griffin, I don't think you'd then trade Green, Hibbert, and a future 1st. You'd just stay with Green, Hibbert, and the future first, especially since Portland is fine at the PF, and they really need Oden to succeed at the 5 long-term for them.
If you could get Green and the #4 for Griffin, that's a tough decision. I might just bide my time with Griffin and let him grow into the PF to be next to Hibbert, and keep our future pick, or I might take Green to star next to Granger, and look to fill the long-term answer at PG with the #4 and stay at that point. Though I'd probably then use the #13 to move Tinsley for expirings and a lesser pick. Maybe something like Tinsley/#13 to Cleveland for Pavlovic/#30whatever they have.

Green and the #4 pick is not a tough decision. Keep Griffin, all day, every day. What is the #4 pick going to get you? Harden, Thabeet, Jordan Hill? No thanks, keep Griffin.

Personally I would rather trade all that for someone like Bosh or Amare. Oden is too injury prone

Not worth it to get T-Mac and Oden (injuries...yay.) I would hesitate to say that Griffin will be better than Granger, but it is possible that he can be a better Elton Brand.

I like Jeff Green a lot, especially as a PF in an O'Brien offense.
If you really like someone at #4, you might have to go with the near sure thing of Jeff Green, if you have any doubts about Griffin developing.
But yeah, I'd probably still hold onto Griffin, mostly because I don't like anything else out there at #4. Now, if you could do Griffin and a future 1st rounder for Green and the #2....that's a tough decision, if you can get Rubio to go with Green. That's an intersting combo.

I dont see JOB as our long term coach. I dont see Bird giving him an extension after this upcoming season, so theres no point in getting a PF that would suit his offense. Actually, I think Murphy best suits JOB's offense at PF

Wow it sounds like I need to have some better day dreams lol but thanks for the feedback. So I guess my new day dream would be draft Griffin and get rid of Tinman and just let our youth develope. It will be interesting to see how the Lottery go, although I am not holding my breath on us getting the #1 pick. But hey didnt the Bulls pull a big upset last year?

mrbrad - Welcome to the forum. Glad to see some newbies. Sweet!
Back to the topic- I am not a fan of this at all. I mean, besides with the whole unrealistic getting a top 2 pick. But, for the sake of this thread, i allowed myself to jump into thinking we can win. And if we do, i just have so many other ideas with what to do. First, i'm not sold on Giffen. Maybe select Ricky Rubio. If not, then i am pretty comfortable with the idea of having Giffen as our PF in our lineup. However, if we could trade him for Green and 4th pick, then wow, i don't think we'd pick a PF any more, i think Green would be good enough. I love the guys game. Then i'd think of selecting Brandon Jennings. Or maybe trading down a few slots and pick a Tyreke Evens or a Ty Lawson.
I hate the idea of having Tracy McGready on this team. And i don't like the idea of bringing in Oden either. They just talked about Oden on ESPN radio the other day, the hosts (trico and van pelt) were saying people in Portland are starting to put the word "bust" with him. They are not all too happy with his play. Even though it's really just his rookie year he just had. I personally like the guy and hope he does well in the NBA, but i wouldn't want him on MY team. Just too much risk. Is the reward bigger then the risk? Not sure. For Pacers, no playoffs for a while, no good teams in a long time, is it worth putting him in? Not sure. I'd pass on it.

You and I could get really far daydreaming together. I have posted about 20 trades that were pretty bad for our team (I still want Artest!). I am not that big on Green and not big on the #4 pick at all, so I would have to pass. I would do it if it were the #2 pick, though. That actually may be possible since they have Westbrook at PG and need a PF. Doubt they'd do it, but you never know, and then we could get Rubio.
Assuming we get the #2 pick, I would do Green, a future first, and Hibbert for Oden I think. Hmmm, on the one hand we have our Center in Hibbert and have Green, which is nice. Oden could be very good, though, and isn't Green best at SF? We would be set for the future at every position.... except PF....
I don't like Murphy and Dunleavy for T-Mac unless we are trying to cut salary. Does he expire next year? Maybe we could sign a good PF since we would have an incredible young core. Probably not though, since we are Indiana and many people don't know that we even have electrcity.

We can't trade Murphy, he's gonna be the MVP next year.

Its good to be part of Pacer county here at Realgm, Grang33r.
I disagree with Gremz, I think McBob will be MVP and MIP next year.

Quality > Quantity
Give me the sure-fire superstar over Jeff Green and #4 any day of the week. And I like the underrated, overshadowed Jeff Green.

I think the only thing that possibly worries me about Blake Griffin is Michael Beasley, and how he's done this year.
Although, I'm usually a big fan of getting the guy that seems to best fit your needs long-term, especially if they're just starting their rookie contract.

Blake Griffin is a much, much harder worker than Michael Beasley. I have no worries whatsoever there.
