...who the hell is David Kahn?

Post#1 » by cdash » Thu May 21, 2009 5:56 pm

He is Minnesota's new GM, apparently. He is always credited as being a former Pacers GM, but for the life of me, I cannot remember this guy. Anyone care to shed some light on it for me?

Bizball: During your time as GM of the Pacers, who was the best player you felt you acquired, either through trades, or the draft?
Kahn: I was most proud of draft-night deals I engineered for Jeff Foster and Jamaal Tinsley, two players who remain with the team today nnot because they were our best players but because of the pressure surrounding both deals.

So he's the one responsible for Tinsleberries!

Good point! It would be pretty sweet if we could get one of their 18th or 28th pick for Tinsley

Hell, I don't even need a first rounder. Here you go, Tinsley for Cardinal, straight up. Both have two years left, both make roughly the same amount of money (Tinsley makes a little more, so we save a few 100k). Come on Kahn, you know you want to..

If the salaries worked, I'd trade Tinsley for the Kool-Aid guy at this point. Then we could all drink the kool-aid and think our team deserves to be in the NBA Finals next season.

I will add in a Kevin Love basketball card valued at roughly $10.

I may trade Granger for the kool-aid guy. Now he will put some fans in the seats!

Drug dealers could make a hell of a lot if that guy was playing. People would be taking things they take before seeing cirque du soleil. They could sell Doritos be $10 apiece at the concession stands.

Keep the Pacers in Indy by getting everyone high?

It's so crazy it might actually work...

Kahn managed the business side for Donnie Walsh for many years, much the way that David Morway does for Bird now.

Anything else? Apparently he worked at the Pacers for 9 years.
