{Don't actually have to underline}

-A small-medium sized image here is encouraged using:

-Short Explanation for the pick {1-4 sentences}

-then say the team following you are on the clock
--------------------------------------------------------

Example:

With the first overall pick, the Chicago Bulls select Derrick Rose

Image

Explanation: We feel he is a true floor general who can lead the Bulls to a championship.

The Miami Heat are on the clock.

David Stern: Hello Everyone and thanks for coming to the 2009 NBA Draft, the Los Angeles Clippers and Chatard05 are on the clock with the first overall pick.

{Chatard05, you will be allotted more time since this thing just started abruptly}

Excellent work PR07. I hope both Grizzly fans are happy with the upgrade from Chris Wallace to cdash, and I promise I won't let them down.

That was fast. I just got an email that says I'm supposed to sell my first pick for $3 million. Any takers?

I got the two teams I hate the most in the NBA....

The Clippers are on the clock. I will obviously be selecting Blake Griffin, but am willing to listen to offers for the #1 pick if that is allowed and anyone is interesting. I am looking for a lot in return, and you will probably have to overpay, to be honest.

You got Granger in the other one, though, so it all evens out. I think I got the first pick b/c even I can't screw that up.

With the first pick, in the 2009 NBA Draft, the Los Angeles Clippers select...

BLAKE GRIFFIN, OKLAHOMA

Griffin is an easy choice for the 1st selection. He is the best player.

The Memphis Grizzlies are on the clock.

I may trade Griffin if anybody is interested. Or if we take this a step further I am looking to get rid of Camby or Kaman.

Sorry, I kind of have to rush this, but here goes:

With the second pick in the 2009 NBA draft, the Memphis Grizzlies select...

Ricky Rubio, PG Spain! Told you I wouldn't mess it up Grizzlie fans!

While we have a need for a post presence, Rubio is too good to pass up here. He has all the tools you look for in a franchise point guard, and I look forward to him begrudgingly signing his rookie contract!

The Oklahoma City Thunder are on the clock.

PR07, thanks for organizing all of this, it is fun. One suggestion I have is maybe update the title with who is up next to draft as often as possible. Obviously you can't do it all day, but people may not know whey are drafting. Really once they see the thread, though, they should know they will have to draft in the upcoming days.

With the third pick in the 2009 NBA draft, the Oklahoma City Thunder select:
Hasheem Thabeet, C, UConn.

Image

We need a Center who can come in and play defense and anchor us defensively. It will take him a couple years to get used to the game, but he will grow just like the rest of our young team and we will see improvement in not only him, but the team as well. Green, Durant, and Westbrook are going to be good players in this league and adding Thabeet will only help us.

The Sacramento Kings are now on the clock...

haha, sorry guys, it was truly luck of the draw. I actually was glancing at who got what teams, and I saw that M4E got Pistons and Lakers, and thought, "Shooh, glad it's not me." :)

With the 4th pick in the 2009 NBA Draft, the Sacramento Kings select Brandon Jennings, PG, Lottomattica Roma.

Image

Reasoning: Having spent our last two first round picks on big men in Spencer Hawes and Jason Thompson, we felt like it was time to address the backcourt. This is a guard's league, and Brandon Jennings has the potential to develop into a premier PG in this league. We feel like we can develop at his own pace behind Beno Udrih until he's ready...but when he is ready, look out rest of the league, because Kevin Martin and him will form one heck of a guard tandem.

The Washington Wizards are on the clock...

I think Jennings will slip, but I like the pick. So far we have the same picks as draftexpress (uhoh, they're dumb.... we must not be doing well).

With the 5th pick, the Washington Wizards select Jordan Hill, PF, Arizona.....

The Wizards are in need of frontcourt help, and assuming that they do not trade down this pick, Hill is the best available option.

With the sixth pick in the NBA Draft, the Minnesota Timberwolves select James Harden out of Arizona State University.

We feel like Harden was the best player available, and we hope that Foye can move back to PG to make a very good duo.

The Golden State Warriors are now on the clock.

Tough one with the Warriors. A lot would depend on exactly how long Old Man Nelson is thinking of grooming the team, but for consideration purposes we'll be using his system.

A tough choice considering Ellis' return and SJax being able to operate as a point-forward, but considering this draft is quite Guard heavy you'd still have to take the best talent at this spot.

I'm torn between two guys, but ultimately the player I think that is the best fit is.....

Image

Tyreke Evans out of the University of Memphis.

A secondary long term ball-handler will be able to compliment and help Ellis out. While Jackson should provide a mentor on how to play combo. Addressing the mix between scorer and operator, he should slide into two SG spot and also man the backup PG. I don't see Crawford or Bellinelli as a viable long term option here, and in all likelihood they both could be on their way out of GS soon.

The New York Knicks are now on the clock....
