The Pacers, who are picking 13th, also wouldn't mind one more pick and shouldn't have a hard time finding a taker. A number of teams don't seem too enthralled with this year's talent and are willing to sell for the right price. The Wizards have a high lottery pick they'd consider moving.

I don't know if he is insinuating that we would make a trade with the Wizards to get the 5th pick, but it's interesting enough that we are looking to get another first rounder for the second straight year.

Hopefully, we can get something done. I've always wanted the Pacers to take more advantage of the possibility of adding multiple picks in Round 1.

In regard to Tyreke Evans:

From the sounds of it, it means Pacers want to "buy" a pick and usually teams start selling from 20's and on. Not sure why he talked about Washington because getting their pick, not only would we need to trade our pick, but a 2011 pick and then some to get it. I just heard yesterday that Oklahoma City wants to sell it's 25th pick and had 1 team very interested but OKC right now is asking for $3 million. It's worth it IMO, you're gonna sign a free agent and hope for miracles on that player, might as well get a pick and hope the player develops. There are going to be a few studs late in this draft. Picks like Oklahoma City, Minnesota or Chicago are the most likely to be traded for cash, as those teams have multiple picks and drafting guys in a weak draft makes little sense.

And if they want to take a $3 million risk and select a guy like DeJaun Blair, Tyler Handsbourgh or Gani Lawal. Although, i honestly wouldn't be surprised if the player they like late is Wayne Ellington, who seems from all the combine and workouts i've read, is just an awesome pure shooter. He just seems the type of player JOB and Bird love.

I have stated on another board how much I'd love to get either Ellington or Danny Green. Ellington is definitely the better long range shooter of the 2, but Danny Green's overall game is a little better in my opinion.

Not to mention Green is responsible for this piece of awesomeness...

I don't really like where the Pacers are sitting in the first round. I'd love to see them make a move up. Adding an extra pick would also be pretty swell. Our future PG should be in this draft. If we can get another rotation guy to boot, we are in good shape.

If this is true and we bought a pick. How much would ya'll like to bet its for Tyler Hansbrough?

I don't see Ellington being all that good in the NBA. I love the guy and hes a great shooter - but so was Joesph Forte. I just don't see enough other than shooting in Ellingtons game to help him succeed. Green on the other hand, I think will be the steal of the second round. He is a good all around player - he does it all. Players like that always find success in the NBA. I always said he reminded me of Danny Granger with the way he plays - obviously not near the same skill level, but in terms of style and the way they play.

I love Ellington and hope I'm wrong though.

n other words, they're in a spot to take the best player available player and hope he becomes an asset.

Since the Bulls are getting close to the luxury tax, unloading a pick or taking someone who will play overseas for a couple of years is another option.

Dgrange33x- i honestly wouldn't want Hansbrough. He isn't the post-up guy we are looking for. He isn't tough, i mean in college terms he was but he won't be in the NBA. He's undersized and he's not athletic. JOB has said a few times he wants athletic players. If they get a true PG (like a Maynor, Lawson, Jennings) then I could see them getting a true shooting guard and honestly i really think Ellington is high on their list. If somehow Blair drops, i wouldn't mind him in that spot.

I think DeJuan Blair will be long-gone. However, I could see the Pacers having a lot of interest in a Psycho T, Wayne Ellington, Sam Young, Chase Budinger, or Jeff Teague. Thinking about each player, each one has something that we don't have.

Yeah i doubt it either. Another guy who I think is on our radar is Taj Gibson. His measurements were great. Has a huge wing span and could be ready for the NBA this season. He's athletic and an awesome defender and a proven shot blocker. We already had him for a workout at Conseco too.

^^ very interesting. He is big but i never saw him as a potential Larry Bird type player. He just seems really soft to be. I once read an article on him in SLAM magazine and i really loved the guy from the article but it was printed before the season started last year and well, he didn't impress all that well. He's very thin and makes dumb decisions on the court. I went on a Gonzaga forum few months ago or so, and asked about Daye and their biggest concern was his speed and that he has no defense whats so ever.

Tools wise, Daye has everything you want. However, at 6"10 190. He's going to have to get a lot stronger and put on a lot more weight. I've also heard toughness is an issue. If the Pacers want to get better defensively, he seems to be someone that clashes with that.

I think he's a bit of a project at this point, and he should probably stay in school where he'd be a Top 7 draft pick next year. He might be worth the gamble though for someone like the Pacers at #13 though if they can afford to wait on him a little bit.

We still have the same strength and conditioning coach as we had when Bender was here right? He was able to add like 25 pounds of muscle to Bender's rail-thin frame in a matter of one summer, so Daye might be able to do the same. I think Bender was like 6'11" and 205 pounds when we drafted him.

Way I'd figure out the Pacers is simple.

In Granger, Rush, and Hibbert the team has it's Miler, Rose, and Smits.

Where they need to go next is making the trades to find their Jackson and Dale Davis, not nessessarily in that order.

Next you gotta figure out how to compile a powerful bench,

Ideally, you need a couple sparks (one inside, one outside) , a defensive specialist, and a rebounder.

Yeah, I mentioned that in another thread. I'm not sure he is right for us. I'd pass.

We might want a pick in the early to mid 20s so we can see which point guard will drop, and take one there.
