Indy Star Says Maynor a Target.

The Pacers hold the 13th pick, and Maynor is projected to be available. If the Pacers go for a point guard, he's a strong possibility.

The 6-2 guard is getting strong consideration from the Indiana Pacers heading into Thursday's draft even though he hails from mid-major Virginia Commonwealth

"He's a 6-2 pure point guard that has leadership ability. He already has an old-school game in that he makes runners and floaters in the lane. He changes speeds. He'll step in as a mature player who knows how to win," Bilas said. "He's not a super athlete, but he has a craftiness about him and he's unafraid to take big shots. He's kind of a mother hen to his team, and I think he can do that at the next level."

Heres the entire article with a lot more about Maynor:

Well this makes me happy. He's not the flashy high media guy, but he is my top choice for a pg. That and he can be picked up later in the draft.

I wouldn't mind Maynor at all. Few experts keep saying Sam Cassell when they compare him and few say Marc Jackson. Either way, in this draft, with the 13th pick, any of those would be huge successful picks for us. He's smart. Has size. And like Granger, loves to take the last shot.

I've liked him from the first time I saw him in the NCAA tourney the first year they made it. I'd be happy with Maynor at 13 and even more happy if we slid a few slots and still got him.

Yea I think we could get Henderson and Maynor if we did the Bulls swap.

Kid's a winner. Reminds me a lot of Chauncey Billups in that regard, and he's willing to take the big shot. I wouldn't be mad if we took Maynor, but I wouldn't be ecstatic either.

Agreed. Although Maynor seems more ready to contribute immediately than Billups was.

I wouldn't love the pick, but as long as it isn't DeJuan Blair then I'll be okay with it.

DeJuan Blair will be twice the player Tyler Hansbrough will be. I said it. I feel good.

No need to bring a Blair debate into this thread.

I think DeJuan Blair will go #12 to the Bobcats if they can't get a deal done for Dalembert.

Interesting that Nets brought back Hansborough in for a second workout! Taking him at #11? I doubt it, I think it's a fall back plan for the Nets should WF's Johnson gets taken by the Raptors and the deal for the two picks the Bulls have is on the table (#16 and #26).

This could very well be the longest first round in NBA history with every pick going the full time, short of the #1 pick.

I think the Nets are taking a good look at him to see if he is worth making the trade with the Bulls to drop down and pickup an extra pick.

I have been on the Eric Maynor bandwagon since the middle of the NCAA season. Love his demeanor out there, reminds me alot of a young Granger in that regard.
