Plans for a PF and trade down could fall tonight....

Post#1 » by DWCP2 » Thu Jun 25, 2009 4:30 pm

Same Yahoo article that pins TJ Ford being shopped also has the Nets deciding between Hansbourough and Gerald Henderson.

How does that affect the Pacers....

If Hansbourough gets taken at #11, Blair stands to possibly get taken at #12 by the Bobcats barring a trade. Outside of those 3, no other PF is worth taking in round 1, unless you constitute Earl Clark a PF.

Having Gerald Henderson fall to #13 is the key to any trade chance with the Bulls. Sure it would help us get Maynor/Lawson then Budinger/Young, but absolutely no help with the future at PF.

I would like to work out a deal with Utah's pick + Millsap (they would have to do a sign and trade), for TJ.

Why would the Jazz trade their presumable starting PF for a backup PG?

They wouldn't. That's just what I would like to see happen :)

If TJ is traded, I think we are definitely looking at PG (my guess is Lawson). Not sure that we are really targeting a big - I think we'd be plenty happy if Blair and Hansbrough were off the board. If we do go big, based on what Bird has said, I think we look at Mullens.

I will throw my free hot dog at the stage tonight if we draft Mullens.

I will buy a plane ticket to Indiana, come to Conseco, and throw my free hot dog at the stage if we draft Blair.

Well if we are looking at Blair, Hans, or Clark as our answer to PF needs then we are worse off than I thought. I'm okay bring in a PG and a wing. There's plenty of talent in 2010 for big men. My main choice, Greg Monroe. There's no need to try and build our entire future team this off season. Lets be patient

Can I buy my own hot dog and send it to you so I can get in on that action?

Who writes these headlines?

Pacers Shopping Ford, Plan To Re-Sign Jack

The article it's linked to says not one word about Jack.
I have no idea what you're talking about, and clearly, neither do you.

I think they were making the assumption that if we're shopping Ford, that we must be planning on re-signing Jack. Still pretty irresponsible reporting though if there's absolutely no mention of Jack in the article.

Another case of careless "journalism" would be Doug Gottlieb from ESPN doing his mock draft and saying that the Pacers are unhappy with Jarrett Jack. Everyone in our organization has had nothing but great things to say about Jarrett since he took over as the starter last season. Where he gets that the organization is unhappy with him is beyond me.

After watching his mock I would have to agree.

via ESPN Insider...

No offer for Herrmann
Walter Herrmann | Pistons
The Detroit News reports the Pistons will not make a qualifying offer to forward Walter Herrmann, making him an unrestricted free agent on July 1.

Would Herrmann be a guy we might look at for depth at the 4?

I think somehow we end up with Phycho T and that makes me oddly excited. Considering a month ago I didnt think he was a first round pick.
