What should we do with T.J.?

I would love for T.J. to be on this team next year, and I am one of few who still believe he is better than Jack. Still if we do decide to trade him who do you think would give us the most value in return?
I found this earlier today:
2) Will anybody take Samuel Dalembert?
Please? The center took a big step backwards last season, and he only saw 24.8 minutes per game over his 82 appearances. The seven-footer's 6.4 scoring average was his lowest rate since his rookie season in 2001-02. Following the season, he requested a trade. There are a handful of teams that could use a starting center, but they may balk at the size of his contract, which owes him $23.36 million over the next two seasons. The Sixers would likely have to take more salary back in return for Dalembert. Teams that could use him include: the Suns, Piston, Pacers, Spurs, and perhaps the Mavericks and Jazz. The Pacers are said to be shopping T.J. Ford, so there may be something to be worked out there. The Suns desperately needs a man in the middle. If the 76ers could somehow swindle Jason Richardson from the Suns, whose contract is the same length but worth $4.4 million more than Dalembert's, I think they would have to pull that trigger.
http://www.rototimes.com/article/2009/6/Offseason-Overview-Philadelphia-76ersIf they decide to let Andre Miller walk they will need help at the point. T.J. and Foster could get us Dalembert and maybe even a future 1st. 76ers were always high on Foster.

I think Ford can be a solid PG for us for a few more years. While I feel Jack is the better player, he may not be the better PG.
Ford is great at breaking down the defense and getting into the lane. Our problem is that he has no one to kick the ball to once in the lane. Foster and Murphy are as bad as it gets when it comes to inside presence and finishing at the rim. Get a player that can get the ball in the post and go up strong and TJ becomes a far more valuable asset...as it is now he drives into the paint and takes it himself or has to kick it out pas tthe 3pt line to find our offense.

I'd hold onto TJ. We probably shopped him when we though we were going to go PG in the draft, and that we want to re-sign Jack. Since we went PF and not PG, we really would have a hole at PG without TJ. We're not playing Tinsley, and Diener is a solid 3rd PG who can carry the backup minutes for extended periods of time, but not a whole season.
Plus, I'd rather have Foster and Hibbert than Dally at center.

I doubt OB wants another go-around with Dalembert, and I wouldn't really want him either. I'd rather have Tyson Chandler.

Sign and trade Ford to Detroit for Allen Iverson. Ford + Detroit = marketing? Iverson would play hard and is a much better PG than we can probably get any other way. He probably won't command a better salary as a real free agent, and I doubt anybody would trade anything better for him. Also, his one year under coach was one of his best.

I'd take Iverson in a heartbeat.

I wouldn't mind Iverson, but I wouldn't want to take the chance of him stunting Rush's offensive development. I'm not worried about Danny, but Rush has a chance to be the #2 option on this team next year, and Iverson would take a lot of shots and dominate the ball, while also limiting some of his minutes.

Yea I agree...but Iverson could also play PG sometimes. I think Iverson has shown that if he is surrounded with scorers he can be unselfish.

Don't want that egomaniac anywhere near this team.
Vote No to Iverson!

I would be okay with adding Iverson. He would draw fans, and ownership needs help with improving fan base. He is also a really good player, not what he was 5 years ago, but still has game.
I would start him at the 1, with Rush and Granger on the wing, Foster and Murphy up front.
That would leave Ford more than expendable and we could try to move him for the best package available (pick or player).

I don't think Iverson would stunt Rush at all. The bigger danger would be in not having a veteran guard for him to learn from. That's one important piece that we were missing last season. Ultimately, I don't think Detroit will take on TJ's contract, but I think doing the swap would be an ideal situation. It would really booster our offense and defense.

Iverson is a UFA, and I believe he would retire before playing in Indiana. Iverson at this stage of his career is a solid scoring piece for a contender, but he is useless IMO for a team that may not even be playoff bound.

I would definitely look to trade Ford. I don't think it would be too difficult to get a point guard to trade Ford. He took a lot of bad shots and was careless with the ball a lot last season. I will grant you he came through for us several times at crunch time, but he tried to force the action a little too much for my tastes. He was also pretty worthless on defense and did not keep his man in front of him. If he is not part of this teams long range plans it does not make sense to keep him for next season just to have a traditional pg rotation in my opinion.

What about Ford + Dunleavy + Foster for T-Mac + filler+ a future protected 1st. We make room for our three young bigs, plus we'd be set up perfectly for 2010.

On Espn, they said AI might have his choices of Memphis or Charlotte, so I'm not sure he can be too picky. As for a veteran guard to learn from, yeah maybe, but I don't think that guy is Iverson. He's pretty much just a scorer at this point in his career. Plus, Granger is starting to get to that "veteran" stage.

To everyone who thinks Iverson is an acceptable pickup, you've got to be kidding. Look at the results in Detroit and Denver. Teams that move him get better teams that take him get worse. He is a difficult player to play with and he would be death to a motion offense.
As to TJ, if he can be part of a trade that improves the team he's certainly not untouchable. Finding a trade of this nature is a lot easier said than done.
His decision making, shot selection and defense are problems for any team hoping to be really good. Assuming the Pacers resign Jack, TJ could be a really effective backup pg. He would need to embrace the roll, be more aggressive putting pressure on the ball defensively similar to Armstrong a couple of years ago. He also needs to get past his ego. I think that was his downfall in Toronto. The Pacer's offensive system doesn't call for the pg to dominate the ball and TJ needs to get that.
For many players it takes a number of years to figure out what their niche will be on a successful team. Usually it means swallowing a little ego and being a part as opposed to being a star. We will be finding out pretty quickly If he can make this mental transition.

When? In Philly, he was surrounded by team guys, and he was selfish. In Denver, he was surrounded by a scorer and team guys, and he was selfish and made it never work. In Detroit, he was surrounded by team guys who could score, and he was selfish and drove a hole in the team.
I don't see when he wasn't a very selfish player that almost destroyed his own team.
