Hmmm, maybe we see another signing tonight. I'll be keeping my eyes peeled to Mike Wells' twitter page. That seems to be the quickest way to get news about the Pacers these days.

I'd bet my third leg they don't use it. Plus, it's a trade exception. They can't use it to sign someone.

My bet is that it will be allowed to expire.

Well, we don't really need to be spending any more based on our financial situation. But if we did wish to spend more, Denver could help us out and sign-and-trade Dahntay Jones for this exception (which is right about what his reported deal would start at), which would preserve our full mid-level exception.

Anything. No reason for them not too. Unless they are pissed we are signing their guy. I don't think that would be the case. Usually, teams are happy to help out a former player that they didn't want to pay anyway. An unprotected 2nd rounder, one dollar, future 'considerations' - I expect they wouldn't really require anything of significance. But if we aren't expecting to spend more (which we shouldn't), then why even bother?

Yup. We've gone through all the regulations to technically maintain our rights. He'd only be used in the case of needing some worthless fodder to fill out a trade like this.

LOL! I remember being GEEKED about getting Tyus Edney back in the day. Turns out his best days were before the NBA. Never liked Tank though. He was a complete a-hole when I tried to get his autograph in 95. He acted like he was a star and we weren't standing there asking for his autograph because no one better was around.
