So it sounds like next year the cap will be a little over $52 million, dropping quite a bit from this year, and even more from last year. They are saying there isn't enough room to sign 2 big time free agents in 2010 now, possibly. In 2011, as long as the Economy improves, the cap should go up quite a bit (I would have to think it'd go up at least as much as it went down, right?) So we have a bunch of expirings/cap space in 2011.

So this could help out the Pacers. Assuming teams won't be able to sign 2 big time FA's next year, maybe we could work a sign-and-trade for our expirings. OR would a player sign just a 1 year deal and wait for 2011 when there is more money to be spent? Probably not, but you never know. So maybe in a year having Tinsley won't be the worst thing in the world, just the 10th worst thing in the world, or so.

I haven't made a dumb thread in a while (or even posted much, I have been busy, it sucks!) So is this completely stupid?

P.S. I want Wade next summer! Get Wade! Wade and Granger would be an insane combo. Then down the stretch have Wade play PG and have a trio of Wade/Rush/Granger. Awesome offensively and awesome defensively. Hey, I can dream, right?

P.S.S. I wonder if the Jazz hadn't added 2 years to Okur if we could've traded Murphy for Boozer. Murphy and Okur are very similar, and it looks like the Jazz want Millsap>Okur. Wade is crazy and wishful, but 2011 may not be a bad year at all for FA. Obviously, some FA classes are better than others, but it seems to me like every FA contains at least one (at least potential) All-Star talent.

Millsap gets an offer from the Trailblazers. I guess he's a big SF. The Jazz have to move Boozer in the next week or so. Is the Magic new trade exception big enough to get him, if they wanted to? I think it's only $7 million, so to answer my question, no. But they could put him at PG and more Rashard to SF to be a big SF as well.

Our 2011 expiring could be valuable. But they'll also be really valuable to us. We will desperately need cap relief. Also, it will be super valuable to show commitment to our guys and hopefully re-sign them for much cheaper contracts. If we can bring back Murphy, Dunleavy, and Foster for a fraction of the cost, that would be awesome. They'll serve as an important veteran core as the younger guys start to take over. The team continuity will also be very important to our success. Nothing breeds better chemistry than familiarity.
