Tell us about Jack

Hey Indiana,

Raptor fan here, also watched some Pacer games last year because of Granger, Ford, and Nesto.

Can you tell us about Jarrett Jack? Is he a pure PG? Can he create for his teammates? Is he starter material? The thing that really impressed me about Jack was on how much he improved in the new year. He averaged just above 16PPG with 4 assists. Some fans don't like the signing.

What should we expect from Jack?

Jack will compete every night, some nights he'll be a stud. Even if he is having a tough night offensively, his effort and tenacious defense ( on PG's) always had a positive effect.

I'm glad Toronto is all excited about Jack, i liked him as a player here and think he will do good in Toronto, but do we really need all these threads about Jack??

^^I think this is valid. I mean, it is a bit much, but they are all talking about different facets of Jack. There's Jack's news, how much is too much, Jack's replacement and the thread about signing him. It could be worse. It could be the Raps board (no offense, but with all of the threads flying around in there, it's a spider web of redundant threads. Tip of the hat to the mods there who manage to stay sane).

About Jack, I hear he can cure cancer with his tears, but he's never cried in his life, and he can slam a revolving door, and he delivers presents to all the good kids and coal to all the bad ones in just one night.

But seriously, he scores well without forcing it (he will try some questionable shots, but compared to the average guard, he's pretty good about it) he's quick and strong, so he can find the hole. He may not be a solid starter, but he player much better defense on opposing guards than Calderon (he guards PG's well...not SG's or SF's...O'Brien...)

He is very much a combo guard, but his passing is underrated, I think. He spent a lot of time not being the primary ballhandler, even as a starter (at least half of his minutes seemed to be shared with TJ Ford). So, he and Jose have something in common. They both took TJ's starting job. Tee hee.
