i don't think anyone expected the Pacers to match. I will admit, i wasn't too high on Jack at the draft night trade, but he was awesome for us. Wish him the best of luck but the offer by Toronto was just too rich for us.

Cheers!

Jack is not the answer for the Pacers at this point, glad this is done.

His quotes are awesome tho, class act right there. Also, how great is it to see some praise by a player for the suits that run the pacers? Larry is doing a fantastic job in my eyes.

I didn't expect us to match when we first found out about the offer, and when we signed Earl Watson it pretty much sealed the deal.

Good luck in Toronto, Jarrett. Thanks for a great season. I'll definitely be tuning in to a lot of Raptor games next season to see how he's doing.

Raps fan here. Just wanted to say that you guys showed a lot of class throughout the Jack signing. If you're this cool on an anonymous message board, it says a lot about what you're like in real life. Congrats.

Thanks for stopping by. You guys got a real gift in Jarrett. He's one of those players you can't help but root for. He just grows on you because of his toughness, leadership and perseverance. Sure, he has his head-scratching moments, but so does everyone else. A team player in every sense of the word. He'll do whatever it takes to win.

1. We gave Jarrett Jack female fertility drugs beforehand.

2. We were classy because we know our board is the best on RealGM.

3. We found another player whose name is Jarrett Jack, a 5'9" 47-year-old white guy, and gave him an identical contract to Jack.

4. Jarrett Jack is an android who is only maximized when playing with the android Troy Murphy. So we're going to have to trade Murphy now.

But seriously, Jarrett Jack is going to back up Calderon really well. Just don't make him guard 2's.

The Earl Watson signing was the icing on the cake. Only thing that could've changed this is if the Pacers had somehow found a good trade for TJ Ford, but that didn't happen (who knows if they even pursued it).

You also got to think about the Jack signing this way....

by allowing jack to leave you also keep Bosh in Toronto as well, in essence a one year sacrifice screwing at least three teams (New York, Miami, and Cleveland, etc.) from getting a chance to improve their team dramatically.

I'm definitely sad to see Jarrett go but he had to do what was best for him. He gets a really nice pay day, and gets to play ball with one of his best friends. He gave us great effort all season and really won over a lot of people. Hell I spent $70 on his jersey, and won a jump ball situation for his shoe that he threw into the crowd at the festivities following the final game last season. He quickly became a tie for my 2nd favorite player (Granger's #1) with Brandon Rush. I hope he has great success with Raptors, as long as we win the games.

Thanks for the info, were happy we got Jack and now its pretty clear that CB4 will re-sign cause all the pieces are here and Mr. Colangelo will do minor tweaks!

I also liked the Earl Watson pick up from you guys, wishing your team success in the 09/10 season!

We could've matched the offer sheet, and smudge away our future plans in an instant. I love Jack. I really did hope he could be with our "core", but i know Larry did the right thing. We simply cannot afford him. Hope someday we could re-acquire him.
Thanks for the one year, Jarrett!

After watching the interview from the Raptors local guys with Jarrett and CB4, I have to say it's really cool to see 2 guys that are close friends like that get to play together at the highest level. They both seemed extremely stoked to be playing on the same team once again and you could see what is a very tight friendship between the two. Good for Jarrett.

That press conference and interview after was great. I really liked the story he told about his upbringing and the values it instilled in him. It's gonna be a joy to watch him and CB4 go to work this season (as long as they're not playing us), along with Hedo.

Man, from reading the comments on this board I am amazed by the amount of class you Pacers fans have. I've been following the Raptors on RealGM for about 5 years now and have come across an enormous amount of mindless morons. There is a considerable amount of knowledgeable and classy Pacer fans.

The Pacers are one of the teams I root for (except when you play us) because you fans deserve it.

Idunno how you can consider their whole fanbase classy based upon a very small number of posters on this forum
