Dc's Pre-Pre-season predicted line-ups and seedings- EAST

As I do each year on various message boards, I am going to post the 10 man rotations of each team AS I SEE THEM in the order that i think they will finish. These will of course be subject for heated debate because I do not simply stay with what generally happened last year like many sports writers do. If I think the Wizards will be the 4th best team in the East then I will put them at four. Last year there was a general consensus that I had the Magic too high and the Raptors too low. I will try to update these as trades and signings are made. Feel free to comment however you wish.

Cavs will finish first once again. No question there.

Also, no way the Bobcats finish dead last.

Bulls, Wizards, and Heat are all overrated here, IMO

Rush starts ahead of Jones. McRoberts is in the rotation at 4 and 5 not 3. a player yet to be signed will be the backup 3 until Dunleavy is read.

so much depends on health - eg. the Wiz are a legit 5 or 6 seed if everyone is 100 percent, but if not.. well look at last season.

anyways, like the summer before every season I am way too optimistic about the Pacers prospects, ha. realistically, we are at best the 10th most talented team in the East (unless BRush or Hibbert make a huge sophomore leap). yet, we compete most nights, which usually adds a few wins per season. I would just love to see the Pacers back in the postseason, even if it is just a 7 or 8 seed that has pretty much no shot to win a 7 game series. Of the teams ahead of us on that list, Detroit and Philly arent scary in any way, and really MIA, ATL, and even Chicago are all vulnerable. (although the Bobcats and Raptors will also be fighting for the postseason I think).

Ive been a big Pacers ever since I moved over to America, and read this board all the time, but this is actually my first post. lets go Pacers, cant wait for opening night - although we better find a backup 3 before then.

Powe is out for a long time and Perkins is starting over Wallace most likely. Even when healthy Powe was never a sf. Not to nitpick, sorry.

Wait, do you really have Jones over Rush and McRoberts at 3....over Dunleavy?

These are top 10 player rotations as I see them. I did not include Dunleavy in it because he isn't going to be part of the rotation until who knows when. We don't have any other players on our roster at the moment to play the 3 so I put McRoberts there. He did play some 3 last season... they started working on him becoming a 5 later in the year but I definitely think he is closer to a 3 than a 5.

I did not know Powe was going to be out for a long time, my apologies.. this is one of the reasons I do this to find things out.

You can mark my words and say you heard it hear first. Rush may go into the season as the starter but 15 games in when they realize they want more defense in the starting line-up they will put Dahntay in the starting line-up. Watson, Jones, McRobters, Hamsbrough, Foster is a pretty weak scoring bench anyway you need at least 1 scorer on the bench I think.

Chase Budinger is not with the Pistons, he's with the Rockets. Perhaps you meant DaJuan Summers?

McGee isn't likely to start ahead of Brendan Haywood for the Wiz.

Nick Young backing up Jamison at power forward? Ben Gordon starting at point guard over Stuckey?

Also, I'm curious as to why you have the Bulls as the 4th best team in the East. Is it because they took Boston to 7 games? I got the Hawks, Wizards, Heat, Pistons and maybe even the Raptors ahead of the Bulls.

Error on Budinger.
From everything I have heard the Wiz are going with mcgee.
I thought the Pistons were wanting to go with stuckey but I can't see them putting Hamilton back on the bench so I will fix that roster when/if they trade him.
I have tried to already explain this but just because I put a player at a 4 spot does not mean the position he is best suited to play is the PF.

I am simply using the numbers 1-5 as the 5 starting players with the 5 best bench players next to them.

The Bulls took Boston to seven Games. Boston didn't have Garnett but Chicago was without Luol Deng and Ben Gordon and John Salmons were playing through pain at the time. Chicago had one of the best records after the tread deadline last year. They have the ROY Derrick Rose and it seems like the elite PG's always have very big gains in their 2nd year. A better Rose, a better bench and another year of experience and cohesiveness is what I am basing the #4 ranking on. Please keep in mind that these arewhat I invision and it is not required that you agree.

DC, are you going to bump this thread if Toronto is the 11th seed like last year?

You do realize Rush is an extremely good defender, right?

If not for that reason, he will find another. "I told you guys Chicago would finish fourth in the East! I'm a prophet!"

Aren't the 2 underlined statements sort of contradictory to one another? If this is the pre-season predicted lineups and you didn't include Dunleavy because he won't be there until who knows when, then why would go change that stance and look further into the future to put Jones in the starting lineup later into the season?

As far as going with Jones over Rush for defensive purposes, that doesn't make a ton of sense either considering Rush is definitely one of our best defensive players. Add in the fact that he's above and beyond Jones offensively, and there really is no reason at all that Jones will ever start over Rush, except for an unfortunate injury possibly.

Im sorry but unless your Chad Ford or another analyst with some sort of information to add I really dont care what one poster thinks, especially when they have all kinds of players out of position and their own team ranked #1.

That being said, saying Dahanty Jones is going to start over Rush doesnt make a lick of sense, anyone on this board or anyone that follows the Pacers at all can tell you that. If your going to do something like this you either have to have the time to put into it that a Chad Ford does or your going to come off looking like you dont know what your talking about.

player movement and knowledge of every club are important guidelines to follow.

All in all I think Chicago will struggle w/o Gordon, they're too high. If Beasley blows up, or should I say, If Wade lets Beasley blow-up than you've got the Heat pegged. Also, Cleveland is one player (Boozer) away from the top. The Wizards have fallen apart and Philly won't keep Dre', they're ranked too high as well.
Larry has built a solid team from the traditional sense that he has had to replenish every position with prototypical players. Not every team has a productive seven footer, if we do our outlook improves dramatically. If Dunleavy is producing 15, 4 & 4 by late February than we have a shot to get as high as sixth.

HOW THE HELL DO YOU THINK RUSH WILL NOT BE IN STARTING LINEUP AFTER 15 GAMES??? cause of his defense?!?!?!??! thats just dumb...like you have problems or what??? he was a great defender for being a rookie this year with playing against lebron, dwade, etc in the east...i thought he did a great job and i look forward to him being a starter for us for a while...may wanna check your head...especially being a cups fan

A fan of the cups? Who are they?

FJ20 was a little angry when he posted that b/c I was taking him down in Tiger Woods. It's about time, he had me the 3 times before that.
