Blazers offering Bayliss

Post#1 » by glasket » Wed Jul 22, 2009 11:23 pm

Could we be interested in Bayliss?
Not to sure what we have that they want and that we would be willing to give up

I'm sure we'd be interested, but we don't have anything to offer. It'd take at least Brandon Rush, and I doubt Portland has too much interest in him since he plays the same position as their superstar in Brandon Roy.

Then, at the SF spot, they have Nicolas Batum, who they really like long-term, Martell Webster, and Travis Outlaw as a swing forward.

We just don't have anything for them, unless they somehow decide to overpay for a TJ Ford, which they won't.

Scoot's right

I looked at this logically, and mathematically we're not landing him, for TJ or anything else.
If we take the minimum they can offer back in a trade for TJ's 8.5m salary it's 6.8m according to the 125% rule

They Aren't giving up Aldridge, Prysbilla, Greg Oden, or Steve Blake w/Bayless for Ford without alot of additional compensation. Considering they need some depth at PG, so Blake might as well be out, and Oden was their crown jewel at one point they have to give him time to become something. Aldridge and Prysbilla are key players. Not for TJ.

Maybe for Deiner and multiple second round picks. They'd free up a more cash for Andre Miller that way, and have a good backup in place to play behind blake off the bench.

That's only like .4m savings though maybe 400k is the difference in signing who they want though?

My Dream would be to acquire Bayless for Deiner and a couple seconds, I'm 90% sure that'd be a good deal.

i just started a post in the Blazers forum about Dunleavy...
i think he'd be a great fit in Portland, and i bet we'd be glad to make a trade with the Pacers for him..

I don't see it happening, but if it did it would probably be something like Blake+Bayless for Ford+Future 1st.
