Tinsley Destination

Post#1 » by granger05 » Thu Jul 23, 2009 9:02 pm

Where do you think Tinsley ends up? I was bored so I went around to the various forums to see which fanbases were talking about him. Here's the list:

Boston Celtics
Los Angeles Lakers
Miami Heat
New York Knicks
Orlando Magic
Philadelphia 76ers
Phoenix Suns
Portland Trailblazers

I'm surprised the Cavs fans aren't at all interested. I think that Cleveland, and Boston both have enough vet leadership that Tinsley wouldn't be a distraction. The Lakers make no sense because he can't shoot or play D, and that seems to be all they ask their PGs to do. The idea of him playing in Portland is hilarious, but not realistic. Philly's been linked with him by ESPN. I always thought he'd be a great backup to Steve Nash in Phoenix, but that was with D'Antoni. Obviously, the Knicks make sense since his numbers would look good under D'Antoni, and that's where he's from.

I assume that there won't be any bidding war, and he'll end up signing a small and short deal to try and prove himself. Do you think he goes to a contender and tries to prove himself as a team player or do you think he goes somewhere where he can get minutes and try to prove he can still play at a high level to get one more contract?

I think Tinsley would be awesome under D'Antoni. Plus he's a hometown guy.

No way does Walsh sign Tinsley, IMO.

I'm going to say Philly or Boston. I think Tinsley will want to go to the East Coast where his roots are.

Jamaal needs a fresh start, a place with no past connections.

Miami wouldn't work because of JO, and putting Tinsley around Beasley isn't ideal for his development.
NY wouldn't work as mentioned above. Walsh wouldn't do that, especially with better options out there like Miller and Sessions.
LA won't work either because of Artest. Can you imagine Jamaal and RonRon on the court together again?
I remember he didn't get along with Anthony Johnson so Orlando shouldn't risk it with what they have going on down there. They should just go after CJ Watson and they're set for the summer.
Boston should look elsewhere. I can already see Quis and Tinsley hitting up the clubs in Boston. Plus, they're rumored to sign Marbury.

My money's on Philly. If Miller leaves, Jamaal would a pretty good temporary solution until they think Jrue is ready. Jamaal hasn't gotten along with his coaches very well in the past but I think Eddie Jordan is perfect for him. He's a players coach, and he managed to keep Arenas happy. How would Jamaal do in the Princeton, though?

I'd like for him to go to Boston and take Rondo's job. One good series/ stretch does not mean anything.

I'm gonna say Boston too. Winning a championship there could redeem his career in an instant.

I hope some1 overpays him a lot, for Pacers sake. And then I hope he blows all of his money on donuts.
