On a recent Friday night, former Indiana Pacers Fred Jones and Eddie Gill teamed up again. Sporting red jerseys, they spearheaded their team to a 153-149 victory at Broad Ripple High School.

The game was part of the Knox Pro Train Summer League, an NBA-sanctioned weekend league for professional players.

Organized by former IUPUI player Carlos Knox, the league came about after Knox and Jones decided Indianapolis would be a good place for an organized summer league.

I wonder if this will help the Pacers in anyway. Maybe to coax some players to come to Indy.

I like the idea of the league, but I'm not following on how it could coax players (of any reasonable talent) to play for us.

Pretty cool story though.

I'd like to see more guys in indy, but I see that happening with $$$ not a free agent league.
