Bird Departure?

If Larry is actually leaving, the Pacers need to get my man from Fort Wayne; Denver's Mark Warkentein.
Presently the reigning NBA Executive of the Year, this is his 19th year in the NBA and has never had a losing season. Native Hoosier; born and raised in Fort Wayne. In his previous 18-seasons, his teams have gone to the playoffs 16-times.
Ideal.

It depends on his availability. We'll see.

This is the first time I've heard of this. Interesting to say the least.

http://basketball.realgm.com/src_wireta ... 10_season/Two NBA management sources, one inside the Pacers organization and one former employee, insist Larry Bird will leave his position with the Pacers after the 2009-10 season.
The sources cited health issues and a lack of enjoyment in the role.

i'd believe it if it was
Mike Wells of the
Indianapolis Star
breaking it.
it's hardly credible if
it's by the NY Post's
Peter Vecsey.

Lack of enjoyment is a given. This squad has been upsetting in more ways than one in the years following the brawl.

Exactly! After going back and seeing where this story is coming from, I'm not really putting any weight behind it. Vecsey is a douchebag and has broken SEVERAL false stories over the years. Not saying whether I believe Bird is done or not, but I'm definitely not buying into this story until someone a little more credible says something about it.

Hey, remember that time Jamaal Tinsley was traded to the Nuggets? Yeah... me neither.

Peter Vescey is like King Midas, except for everything he touches doesn't turn into gold, it turns into being bull ****! I wonder if he has any relation to the "Bubble Boy" dad.
"Nyuk-nyuk-nyuk!" (Curly from the 3 Stooges, of course)
We really should talk about the Three Stooges more-- they're the best. Yeah, I said it Conan, sorry.
Edit: I had to add some Three Stooges videos. What would a Larry Bird thread be without them? Sorry, I would put this in OT, but it disappeared (hmmm I can't understand why.... I was rarely posting for 5 months or whatever and it got no action?)

I'm intrigued. It might just be me, but I hope Larry sees the rebuild through. I hope he soesn't leave unfinished business behind.

Ideal.
I think Ideal would be Bird staying and finishing the rebuilding job he started.
