New Starting Lineup?

Post#1 » by IrishLuck31 » Sun Nov 8, 2009 8:42 pm

Unfortunately I have not gotten to see much of the past 2 pacer games live (just the first half of the Wiz game), but it seems that without Murphy, the starting lineup of Ford, Rush, D. Jones, Granger, and Hibbert has proved more than effective, especially defensively. I guess it depends on the other team if we can have Granger at the 4. But a Rashard Lewis type of defensive role for Granger isn't inconceivable (of course, Hibbert is not exactly Howard at the 5). What do you guys think? Have we looked better with this starting lineup? I like Murphy, but he is a huge defensive liability.

The difference has been that in the three games Murph played, the other team had more prototypical AND athletic PF's, Josh Smith, Beasley, and Kenyon Martin. The two games he didn't have been Al Harrington (natural SF guarded by Granger) and Fabricio Oberto, and the Wizards played small against us for some reason. So it's not so much that Murph isn't on the floor. I'm going to say this about Murphy's D, though: I'm looking forward to Psycho's development.

thanks - yea, that makes sense. I am looking forward to seeing a developing frontcourt of Hibbert and T-Hans, that has to be one of the best hustling front courts in the league at least

The staring lineup should remain as it is. After all, we're 2-3 only 5 games into the season, doesn't seem like panic mode to me.

Is it 2-0 because murph was out or is it 2-0 because we played 2 struggling teams at the moment?
