So Lester Connor(asst. coach)emphasized taking to the paint?

Finally!

I checked the Pacers box scores and compared Freethrow attempts in the games ( I think I missed a couple). Here are the results.

In the Losses:

Miami: -20 (This means We were -20 in FT attempts against Miami, etc..)
Denver: -17
Atlanta: -4
NY: -2
Cleveland: -13
Charlotte: -4
Toronto: -9
Dallas: 0
GS: 0
Sac: 0
Utah: +7
Clippers: -12
Portland: -10
Orlando: -25
Memphis: +6
Spurs: -20
MIlwaukee: +2
Boston: -16
Atlanta: -16
Miami: +15
Chi: -6
Memphis: -13
NY: -15 (We shot 9 FT's...NINE!)
MInn: -28
OKC: -9
NewOrleans: -5
Miami: +1
Orlando: -4
Philly: -1
Lakers: -16
Cavs: -39 (We shot FIVE)
Raps: +4

In the Wins:

NY: +10
Wiz: +10
GS: +10
Boston: 0
NJ: +4
Clippers: +6
NJ: -10
Wiz:+7
Minn: -14
Orlando: +5
Toronto: -16
suns: +11
NJ: -13
Philly: -4
Raps: +1

In all but 5 or so Losses did we actually have more free throws than the opponent. We even had games where we shot 9 and 5. NINE AND FIVE!

In the Loss vs. Boston, we shot 16 less FT's. In the win we tied.

In our win vs Orlando, we shot 5more, but were way behind in our losses.

We shot 10 more in a win against the Warriors, but tied in the loss.

Clippers loss -10, in a win we were plus 6.

It isn't hard to see that Indy needs to take things to the paint. We give ourselves a waaay better chance to win if we played more physical rather than shoot jumpers and 3's all day.

Hopefully somebody realizes this and starts to act on it. Connor did an awesome job filling in for stubborn ass O'Brien. Maybe the job he did will give O'brien some sense!

I was excited to see Brandon Rush take the ball to the hoop from the perimeter a couple of times. He looked less... skittish.
