Deal would include us giving up Rush for Diop and Mohammed

This would be horrible

I wanted Augustine in the draft 2 years ago before we did the trade for TJ. If we can pull this off, I am very confident he could be our PG of the future. He's struggled this season, but the kid is GOOD.

I'm seeing the rumor as

Ford, Rush for Augustine, Mohammed and Gerald Henderson.

THAT I could deal with.

The rumor I saw included Rush. I was very surprised to see that.

That would be a steal for the Pacers. Rush is developing too slow IMO and Charlotte has too many PGs.... Augustin was a fan favorite on this board about a year ago i remember when his named first was mentioned.

I'll let you guys do this, but only if you flip Luther Heat to my Hawks for a 2nd rounder.

Wouldn't it have to be a 3 for 3 trade since we already have 15 players?

I don't like including Rush in this deal

Wasn't it Henderson who elbowed Hansbrough when Duke played UNC? lol

Wells just said he's hearing the deal will NOT be done. So much for picking up our future starting PG.

Augustine is attractive, but I think it would be a step back to include Rush in the deal, espcially now that he's coming around.

Rush is my favorite young Pacer but honestly I think Henderson would be just as adequate if given the playing time that Rush gets.

Yeah, the deal would have been great except that Mohammad is signed for two more year not one. Had the excess contract been for one year, then the trigger would have been pulled easily by Indiana.

Don't give your hopes up yet though. It is like Mike Wells said, the Pacers have 37 million in expiring contracts to parlay come summer. Not dumping anyone simply means the Pacers will have to work trades instead of signing anyone outright with exceptions or risk going into the luxury tax threshold.

They need only dump about 3-4 million between now and next year to escape the luxury tax, pending it falls around 55 million (est.).

The value of an expiring contract will go up come August 1st, 30 days into free agency.

I would say I expect the Pacers to make some sort of draft day trade in order to move up in the lottery (unless God gives up the #1 pick), but that would require that the front office actually made a move that the fans would like.
