I believe they hold it 30+ days before the nba draft. Last year it was held May 19th the Tuesday prior to Memorial day.

If we get the #1 pick we have to take Wall. I like the idea of Turner and Granger too, but we can't pass up a potential star at a position that has been a need of ours for a VERY long time.

I can't see any team passing on Wall at this point.

Don't get me wrong, i love Evan Turner and the way Ohio State plays with him as opposed to without him, is unreal, which just proves what a great player this guy is, but, John Wall has to be a #1 pick. He's a stud. He can carry a team. The quick one handed dunk he had in the game earlier this week was unreal, even Charles Barkley said not many in the world can do that. The guy is going to be a super star, a guy you can build your franchise around. When i think franchise players, i think Dwight, Kobe, James, Wade, Durant, Dirk and Anthony. I think Wall will join them. Turner is on the next tier of stars. Which, that is no disrespect at all.

From looking back on the dates of recent draft lotteries, it looks like they're held on the second-to-last Tuesday in May. That would mean this year's lottery will be May 18th -- 73 days away by my count.

If he does he's gonna be he first PG to do so because all the guys you just described are Wings!!!

Wall doesnt have the size for the basketball skill to be a franchise player. He can be a very good PG though.\.That aint bad.

We can't wait three years for Wall to grown into an NBA stud...we need an immediate impact player from this draft. I say if given the opportunity we take Evan Turner as a Reggie Miller prototype 2-guard, and trade draft picks and expiring contracts to move up into the back end of the first round to grab a big that has slid down the pole. We pick up an experienced point guard next year with cap space money either by trade or free agency. In one year, we could have a top flight point guard, plus a replacement for Reggie, and a power rebounder in the mold of Dale Davis/Antonio Davis. Now we're talking! Mix these three with Granger, Rush, Hibbert, D.Jones, AJ Price, and possibly Hansbrough (if he can still play after his concussions), and we have a team that can do some serious damage to the Eastern Conference standings.

Well, that is true. Although Chris Paul and Derrick Rose are pretty good players as well. I mean, this discussion is about the best 7-8 basketball players in the world, not every draft has players who are considered in that mix, and maybe John Wall won't be either, but he will be pretty darn close i think. I do love Evan Turner a lot and i've watched every Ohio State Big10 tournament game just to see him play, and i love him more now then i did prior to the week. Although, Wall had some great moments too.

Btw, here's Mike Wells' take on Turner vs. Wall..... http://blogs.indystar.com/pacersinsider ... _wall.html

I doubt New Orleans would trade Darren Collison for Brandon Rush + pick though.

Collison
Turner
Granger
Hansbrough
Hibbert

We need to use the cap room or the draft to get our starting PF, TH isn't it. I love Psycho T bringing that energy off the bench, but I don't want him starting. He'd be another version of Varejao for us, I don't want him to start, but I want him on the team.

I still somehow hope we can re-visit the Murphy for Jason Thompson trade.... although, i really think thats unlikely.
