Stephen Jackson sends us his regards

The thing is, I actually kinda like Stephen Jackson. He's a good basketball player, and I think he means well. He did at least two really stupid things while he was a Pacer. But after he did them, he did not follow up by demanding a trade like that selfish SOB Artest. I doubt I'll ever forgive Artest. I forgive Jackson, not that it matters or that he should have any reason to care.

But damn, man. Does he really expect us to feel all warm and fuzzy about the past? Let's review here--our team had the talent to win a championship, but instead it burned to the ground in one of the worst housefires a sports franchise has ever experienced, and Jackson helped pour the gasoline. And then there's the minor point that because of him and his buddies the Pacers are now stuck in basketball purgatory, if not hell, with no end in sight. Good times!

It's funny how things work out. Detroit's fans pitch a riot and not only get away with it but eliminate their team's toughest rival in the process. Artest could win a ring this year. Jackson might lead a young team to its first-ever playoff appearance. Jamaal Tinsley gets paid $7 million this year for front-row NBA seats--last year it was $7 million to eat nachos on the couch. And us Pacers fans, who did nothing wrong, get to see our team miss the playoffs for the fourth straight year, look forward to the Ping Pong balls mysteriously failing to tumble our way again this summer, and must ask ourselves every day if there's really any good reason why we should continue to support the NBA.

I'm not sure why I kinda like Jackson, but I do. Even so, he still screwed us, and I can't just forget it or be happy about his time with the Pacers.

Karma, man. Karma. One day it will all even out... one day. Only thing we can do as Pacer fans is be patient and have faith.

I still like Jackson, too. I know many don't and I understand why, but I loved him in Indy and he remains one of my favorite players. I try to catch his games whenever I can. Recently, I caught the game against the Magic, and Jackson came up huge again in the clutch with a big three. I think he had like 28, 6, and 6.

I don't like talking about the GS trade because it makes me sad to see how soft and mediocre we got, and I understand some sponsor was pushing for Jackson to get traded, but that was just such a terrible trade, talent-wise and salary-wise.

Oh, well... it's almost over. I hope.

My karma runs over your dogma!

Karma is a bitch!

I know I sound a little bitter here. I don't really feel bitter. I became a Pacers fan in the mid 1980s when there was nowhere for the team to go but up...and up they went, steadily, year by year, for nearly the first twenty years I followed them. It was a lucky experience for me as a sports fan.

It was inevitable that the team's fortunes would change sooner or later, and I'll ride out the bad times, just as I've ridden out the bad times with my other teams (hello, Missouri Tigers).

Just don't expect me to thank Stephen Jackson for the memories.

I'm still a fan of Jackson, I don't like what happened, but he's a great player. I wouldn't mind having him back on the squad as the starting 2. Personally, this whole "image concious" thing w/ Indy is getting old, is the dude a rapist, murder, theif, or anything like that? No. So then who cares? How about we focus on winning basketball games rather than what people think, because I can guarantee you, if you win games, they will forget about everything else.

I never was a fan of the Lord of the Streaky Shooters. 28 points on 12-17 shooting one night, 10 points on 4-15 each of the next 2 nights.

I wanted him gone after the "Brawl" Season, and it wasn't even the Brawl that got me. It was just the fact that we used him as a primary scoring option (More so after Reggie retired) and if he didn't hit his first few shots to start the game, we were f*cked.

Not to mention his constant crying to the refs over fouls he obviously committed. That just made him look immature and unprofessional.

^^Also, he would be complaining to the ref instead of defending.

It takes a while to make lemonade out of absolute **** lemons.

I'd like to say he has grown up and snapped out of that behavior....................but I'm sad to say I can't.
