Stephen Jackson sends us his regards

The thing is, I actually kinda like Stephen Jackson. He's a good basketball player, and I think he means well. He did at least two really stupid things while he was a Pacer. But after he did them, he did not follow up by demanding a trade like that selfish SOB Artest. I doubt I'll ever forgive Artest. I forgive Jackson, not that it matters or that he should have any reason to care.
But damn, man. Does he really expect us to feel all warm and fuzzy about the past? Let's review here--our team had the talent to win a championship, but instead it burned to the ground in one of the worst housefires a sports franchise has ever experienced, and Jackson helped pour the gasoline. And then there's the minor point that because of him and his buddies the Pacers are now stuck in basketball purgatory, if not hell, with no end in sight. Good times!
It's funny how things work out. Detroit's fans pitch a riot and not only get away with it but eliminate their team's toughest rival in the process. Artest could win a ring this year. Jackson might lead a young team to its first-ever playoff appearance. Jamaal Tinsley gets paid $7 million this year for front-row NBA seats--last year it was $7 million to eat nachos on the couch. And us Pacers fans, who did nothing wrong, get to see our team miss the playoffs for the fourth straight year, look forward to the Ping Pong balls mysteriously failing to tumble our way again this summer, and must ask ourselves every day if there's really any good reason why we should continue to support the NBA.
I'm not sure why I kinda like Jackson, but I do. Even so, he still screwed us, and I can't just forget it or be happy about his time with the Pacers.
