Why does Derrick Ward get the nod over Bradshaw. Is this guy in the doghouse? Tom Coughlin must have ADD. If I remember correctly, Bradshaw played an instrumental role in the NY Giants becoming the NFL Champs. Without out him, we don't even make the playoffs. Bradshaw was huge. Him and Jaccobs was a great tandem. The pace changed drastically when Bradshaw came into the game. He is extremely quick and hits the hole with power.
Don't get me wrong, Ward has done a great job and he is also a punishing runner. But Bradshaw can be a STAR.
As a Giant fan, you must be wondering why this guy is only being used on special teams. Yes he has a few snaps from scrimage, but he should get at least 10 touches per game.
Your thoughts.

Re: Hard To Understand, Bradshaw?
I think Bradshaw has showed 'dropsies' tendencies of late (fumbling). I'm sure we can get it squared away. Ahmad has been playing a lot on specials though, so we haven't been completely wasting his talents. I'm fine mixing all 3 up... BUT Bradshaw needs to show he can hold onto the ball. I also think we need to mix up Jacobs and Ward better... we're getting predictable with how we use them.

I do agree with you that we need to mix up the Ward and Jaccobs combination. Everyone knows if it is third and one Brandon is going to get the call.
I loved the change of pace Bradshaw provided. Do you remember when Tiki Barber had fumblitist? Eventually, he was able to correct it, and he became a fantastic runner for the Giants. Hopefully, whatever Tiki can teach Bradshaw his techniques in training that enabled him to hold on to the ball.
Bradshaw reminds me of LT in San Diego, quick, power and agility.
Thanks for responding
Peace

Re: Hard To Understand, Bradshaw?
Why is Ward getting the nod over Bradshaw? Because Ward is an excellent back who doesn't fumble. Derrick Ward is the most underappreciated player on the Giants. We're talking about a guy averaging 6.2 YPC. That's outstanding! Ward is a fantastic back who is definately deserving of being the number two guy.
I also think that Giants fans suffer from "backup syndrome" (maybe we could call it Palmer syndrome) when dealing with Bradshaw. Don't get me wrong, Bradshaw is an excellent back who provides a great change of pace, but he's not a superstar (though, like all of our backs really, if he were the feature back for a team he would definately be a big name) trapped in the doghouse behind some random scrub named Derrick Ward. He hasn't gotten the nod over Ward because, as of right now, Ward is better. There's also the fumble problems Bradshaw has. We're in the middle of a superbowl run right now, so if the difference between two RBs is very small but one fumbles a lot, you obviously go with the guy who takes care of the ball. We can't afford to be turning the ball over when dealing with teams like the Redskins or Panthers.
Ward will probably move on after this year, only because we have so many backs and retaining them all will probably be impossible. If he does go to another team, he will be next year's Michael Turner, guarenteed (maybe better).

Ward gets the yards when they need it the most. Bradshaw is still young and he will get his chance. Ward just signed a one-year contract, who knows with the way Ward has been playing he can get a 3 or 4 years deal with a another team next year.
