Phillips and Thomas are solid picks. I love guys in the secondary who are huge (both are over 6'1'' and 210+ lbs) who are aggressive and hard hitters. Also, Phillips' strength is playing in man coverage...which means lining him up against guys like Witten and Cooley, which we haven't been able to do in years. Thomas' strength is press man coverage and he is an incredible blitzer, once against perfect for Spags' defense.
You can see that now that Spags is in his 2nd year he has more of an input, and when you give a genuis like him all the tools and resources he needs, scary things happen. You see what he did without a big, tough, man coverage secondary last year. Now lets see the magic he pulls WITH that.
Also, I love the Manningham pick...an absolute steal. His speed at the combine was a 4.59, but at the Michigan pro day he ran a 4.38...an incredible improvement. I don't know why that happened, but he obviously has impressive top-end speed. Also, I think it is hilarious that he dropped because he smoked some weed and lied about it...I'm willing to bet that 95% of the NFL has/does smoke weed. But it works out beautifully for us.
How about 5 wide...Plax, Toomer, Smith, Manningham, Shockey. Good luck the rest of the NFL, this team is buinding an extremely impressive foundation, which they began to do over the past 2 seasons.
With 5 more picks left, I expect an OLB, DT, and two offensive linemen. Not sure what else, maybe a second LB.

And it also marks the Giants' first trade in the Draft.

Alright, first off, Im not a Giants fan, but I will be rooting for them now because of this pick. I am a big BYU fan and Bryan Kehl is one of the best players Ive watched play at BYU in a long time. He is fast, agile, very athletic, and super intelligent. He doesnt lack confidence and is a smart decision maker. He will be a great addition to the Giants defense.

I would of been happier if we traded for a veteran CB.
But I'm happy we got Phillips and didn't trade Shockey.
I like Terrell Thomas but his injury history scares me. The other picks are blah to me, I'll wait and see. If Gerrris Wilkenson steps up this year, our defense will be very good. I think Kenny Philips will replace Wilson's production easily
