The Giants signed a bunch of undrafted guys as soon as the draft ended tonight. These names will trickle out over the next few days. Right now, I have two:

*Cincinnati OL Glenn "Digger" Bujnoch. His father played for the Bengals and Bucs in thew late 1970s and early 80s. Glenn Jr. plays everywhere on the line -- including TE.

*Alabama DE Wallace Gilberry. A 6-3, 263-pound end who could use more bulk and needs to work on his pass-rush skills. I think the Giants have a couple of guys that could help him in that department.

Disappointment turned to delight for Nehemiah Warrick.

The Bayshore alum and Michigan State product didn't get picked during the NFL Draft, which wrapped Sunday night. But the safety did draw the interest of the Super Bowl champion New York Giants, who signed him as a free agent.

"I want to get in there and compete," Warrick said. "This is my job. . . . It's time to tighten up right now.

"I'm a New York Giant."

Coughlin told Warrick he had been breaking down Warrick's game film and thought he'd fit well in the Giants' system.

"He said a lot of great things about me," Warrick said. "I'm blessed to be part of the organization."

Three 'Canes were signed to free-agent contracts Sunday: Defensive tackle Teraz McCray with Buffalo; wide receiver Darnell Jenkins with Houston; and offensive lineman Andrew Bain with the Giants.

Alabama receiver DJ Hall said this afternoon he has agreed to join teammate Wallace Gilberry as a free-agent signee with the New York Giants. Hall was also considering an offer from the Detroit Lions.

"They just seemed the most interested, willing to take a chance," Hall said. "I'm not the person that's going to turn a lot of things down. I just want the opportunity, and they're giving it to me."

Hall, who had a record-breaking career at Alabama, was among the Crimson Tide contingent shut out of this weekend's draft. Former teammates expressed the most surprise about Hall, whose collegiate accomplishments suggested a higher draft status.

He will report to mini-camp with the Giants in the coming week.

"I'm just ready to go," Hall said. "I'll show a lot of people. The whole thing was crazy. What can I do about it now but prove them wrong."

I heard Reese say in an interview today that the Giants signed like 12 players. I am curious who the rest are.

Turns out Gilberry signed with the Redskins.

Undrafted Defensive End Wallace Gilberry of Alabama, originally thought to have signed with New York, actually signed with the Washington Redskins. Gilberry reportedly received an offer from the Giants, but felt he'd have a better chance to make the roster with Washington.

The Giants today announced that they have signed four rookie free agents: wide receiver D.J. Hall and defensive end Wallace Gilberry, both from the University of Alabama, defensive end Antonio Reynolds of Tennessee and safety Nehemiah Warrick of Michigan State.

Hall, 6-2 and 197 pounds, was a four-year starter for the Crimson Tide, playing in 48 games with 39 starts. He caught 194 passes for 2,923 yards and 17 touchdowns in his career. He also returned 10 kickoffs for a 19.6-yard average. As a senior in 2007, Hall had a career-high 67 receptions for 1,005 yards and a career-best six touchdowns and was selected to the All-Southeastern Conference second team. Hall is a native of Ft. Walton Beach Fla. Martinez

Nate Robinson, a defensive tackle who once was one of the most heralded recruits in Rutgers history, signed Monday with the Giants.

The 6-5, 315-pounder was one of seven players to be offered a contract after a weekend tryout. He was joined by OT Jacob Hobbs (Albany), DT Brian Soi (Utah), DE Alex Morrow (USC), CB Miguel Scott (N.C. State), S Terrance Stringer (Tuskegee) and long-snapper Nick Leeson (Virginia Tech).

After failing to academically qualify for the U. of Miami, Robinson was signed by Rutgers. But after two seasons there he was dismissed for unspecified reasons. He then transferred to Akron.

The Giants waived LB Rory Johnson (Mississippi), DT Joshua Muse (Louisiana Tech) and K/P Owen Tolson (Army).
