The deal is the same that was offered by the Saints during the draft (2nd and 5th rd picks). Shockey had to go, the guy has not stopped complaining since the day we won the Super Bowl. He was going to be nothing more than a headache during the season, which wasn't something we needed coming fresh off of a SB victory. He is a great talent and I will miss how hard he plays the game, but this is a good trade. Boss is ready to take over for good.

Yeah, thanks for everything, but Happy Trails, Shockey. Time to move on.

Excellent news. I like the value we got for him and we definately don't need his baggage moving forward. Also, with Shockey gone, we'll have more money to extend Plax and (hopefully) Jacobs.

go vilma!!
The Giants would get the Saints' 2009 first-round draft pick if LB Jonathan Vilma plays in 85 percent of snaps this season and then goes on to sign an extension with the Saints.
Under that scenario, the Jets would upgrade to the Saints second-round pick which would in turn bump the Giants up to the first-rounder. The Saints fifth-rounder would fall out of the Giants deal if that happens.
go vilma!!

LOL Y U MAD THO?

mitchell robinson has blocked zion williamson 3 times as of 7/6/19.

Saints brass: "Uhm, Jon, you've played 84% of our downs... we need to start 'resting' you now..."

Re: Shockey gone!
It turns out that if this condition kicks in we'd get a 2010 first round pick, not their 2009 first. So the question is, do we want the second in '09 in what should be a stacked draft or the first in a less deep '10 draft?
