The coach announced a few moments ago that Mathias Kiwanuka will move back to defensive end after one year as a strongside linebacker.
“I talked with him yesterday,” Coughlin said. “He was more than willing to do whatever he could do in the best interests of the team.”
Coughlin said Danny Clark will work in Kiwanuka’s spot at strongside linebacker. That means Gerris Wilkinson will play on the weakiside.

I'm a little concerned how this might affect his development at linebacker but this clearly was the best possible move. I feel much better about the defense now.
Oh, and Craig Dahl tore his ACL, just so Osi had someone to keep him company.
UPDATE: Bad news for S Craig Dahl. Eight months after tearing an ACL in the Giants’ regular-season finale against the Patriots, he tore his other ACL against the Jets. His 2008 season appears to be over, too. So while the Giants have to cut from 80 to 75 players by 4 p.m. Tuesday, it appears that two of their moves have already been made for them. Dahl and Osi Umenyiora are almost certainly headed to injured reserve.
