-Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News reports that Giants rookie safety Kenny Phillips will play in the Giants’ nickel defense Thursday night against the Redskins.

-Michael Johnson will start at free safety, but will only be a two-down player. Vacchiano speculates that Phillips could wind up with more snaps in the opener.

-Wide receiver Malcolm Kelly (Knee) and defensive end’s Alex Buzbee (Achilles) and Phillip Daniels (Knee) have been deemed out for Thursday night’s game against the Giants. Linebacker Khary Campbell (Thigh), cornerback Shawn Springs (Calf), safety LaRon Landry (Hamstring) and wide receiver Antwaan Randle El (Hand) are probable.

Stud defensive end Jason Taylor (Knee) is listed as questionable and will be a game-time decision to play.

-CB Terrell Thomas (hamstring) and LB Jonathan Goff (back) will not play tomorrow night. K Lawrence Tynes is still not practicing, newest Giant K John Carney will instead do the honors of kicking off the Giants season.

WR Domenik Hixon (back) practiced Tuesday and is expected to play.

as always lets go giants!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
