Yeah, it'll hurt. He was becoming a beast. Hopefully it's nothing long-term and he comes back healthy next year.

The way the Giants work though is they move on and plug in the next guy. That is why Jerry Reese is the man.

Kenny Phillips’ season is over. And it may be worse than that.

The Giants today said he’s been diagnosed with patellofemoral arthritis in his left knee. Not only is that enough to put him on injured reserve. It is, according to a noted orthopedist (who it should be noted has not examined Phillips or his MRI results), a career-threatening condition.

“I would have rather them said he tore his ACL and his MCL,” said Dr. Craig Levitz. “That’s a much better injury to have. We can fix that. If he tore his meniscus, we can fix that. Even if he tore his knee ligaments, we can fix those. It’s just a matter of how good he rehabs whether he gets back.

“Arthritis, we cant fix that,” he said.

a young superstar in the making that'll probably retire before his 25th birthday and walking with a cane by age 40. :(

Ugh...yeah, he's a young guy though so hopefully he can recover with rest and there is a surgery option at some point. I hate these doom and gloom injuries though.

Yeah very true. They usually find someone to plug in. But damn it seems like our defense has been dropping like flies over the first few weeks of the season.

Yes, we've been crushed with injuries but we are in a favorable stretch of our schedule. If we can win these games and get the Canty's, Tuck's and Ross' of the world back soon, we should be fine.

We need to make a move for some safety depth. Even if it costs a 3rd or 4th rounder, this is a win now franchise. I love our depth, but we have alot of injuries in the secondary right now, theres only so much before the cracks really start to show.

There will never be another Sean Taylor but I loved how Kenny openly embraced carrying on the tradition of Miami safeties. It seemed like he wanted to excel FOR Sean Taylor. This really, really sucks.

ugh let his team win??

the giants are still a top 3 team in the nfl, losing phillips sucks but the team is still great. excellent o-line, excellent d-line, good lb core with boley and sintim, underrated very good db's, excellent clutch qb, excellent rb's, great blocking te with good hands, and emerging recievers.
