5 picks in the top 115. Jets need to get real creative here..

Many of the mock drafts have us picking Georgia RB Knowshon Moreno. I was surprised. I would have thought a QB or a defensive player.

A continuation of their crush on McFadden probably? Running back seems like a luxury to me, so I would linebacker and there are quite a few that should be there at 17.

I think that hype had died down a lot. Now its more about finding that running back in the later rounds or one that got no pub. Forte and Johnson are the new craze, Tulane and East Carolina who saw that coming? As far as who to draft there are a few things we need, but after the investment in Pace and Gholston I cant see us investing any more money at linebacker. Maybe later in the draft, but not another first round one.
Id take Stafford or Sanchez easily, but dont see how they drop that far.
Id take Jenkins or Davis easily, at least one should still be available.
Id rather Chris Wells over Moreneo, combine will make their stock.
I dont care for any first round receiver not named Crabtree.

I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that he seems like great value at #17 and we want to become a true running oriented offense. Thomas Jones, while he had a great season last year, won't be around forever and he's getting up there in age. Moreno also is a local kid and has the potential to become the face of the franchise in a couple of years. A complete RB like him would also be a great security blanket for either of our young QBs who wins the starting job. Moreno is a good blocker, a good receiver out of the backfield and we all know he can run the ball. Even if he had a subpar 40 time at the Combine, he would definitely be a good pickup if we address most of our other needs in free agency...
Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things. And no good thing ever dies...
