I hope he doesn't have any rust on him from what little time he saw on the field last season.

The deal is a 2009 5th and a 2010 conditional pick that will be as low as a 4th, but as high as a 2nd.

Does this also mean we're giving up on Dwight Lowery?

Excellent deal. Sheppard is a young CB with pro bowl talent. He comes from an aggressive man to man scheme in Philly and should have no problems in Ryan's defense...

It's hard not to like this deal considering his age and the fact he has been a two time pro bowler. He has great hands and is familiar with an attacking scheme. He will probably be utilized a lot in blitzes from the corner. For what we gave up, this is good if he regains his old form which I think he will.

A huge key in my eyes is that we are bringing in a hungry player. He wants to prove himself again and get a fresh start in NY. The situation is kinda similar to Kris Jenkins last year when you think about it. He fell out of favor in Carolina, had some troubles on his own and he needed a fresh start. First season in NY, awesome year, another pro bowl and he was basically our MVP. Sheppard will also come with a little fire inside of him and he wants to show everyone that he is far from done. I hardly believe that there is anything wrong in terms of talent or ability, we all know he has all the tools to be a very good corner especially in our system.

With that said, I would have rather signed Jabari Greer who now went to the Saints but I'm very happy with Sheppard and think he was exactly what we need opposite of Revis and in Ryan's aggressive scheme...
