Week 5: Jets 21 Patriots 30 Final

Post#1 » by Lord Commander » Wed Oct 5, 2011 3:13 pm

Oh boy, I got a bad feeling about this game. I fear we will all be in full panic mode after the game.

...and who does Brady ('It doesn't matter' who Revis covers) think he is anyway, the Rock?!?

there were some positives to take out of the game last week, Defense looked good once again, and the pass rushing has looked alot much better compared to past weeks......but

if that O Line plays the same and we have no Mangold then its going to be a long game

honestly id be fine with a loss if we can keep it to a possession, id figure we will split once again with the Patriots again this season

Agree. We definitely need Mangold asap!

I feel like Wes Welker is going to be on Revis Island so that Tom Brady can't bail out by throwing short passes to him while the blitzes are coming. We def need to something about their TE though.

Hopefully itll be a good game to watch

Have I ever mentioned that I hate Eric Smith? Welker doesn't catch that ball if Revis didn't think he had help.

And again the refs don't help us.

Cromartie: I dare Brady to throw my way.
Idiot.

Schotty should be fired....no reason for us not to take advantage of a weak Patriots D, once again only time we looked like a true threat was towards the end of the 4th quarter but by then NE had the lead built up pretty well....sick of this ass, he calls for running plays when we should pass and passing plays when we should run, sick and tired of his shtick....if there are any rumors to the WR's goign to Rex about Schotty then action needs to be taken...no reason for the seven and outs we had, espescially when you consider some of them were 3 and 2's....GTFO

what a difference with Mangold though....granted it was the NE defense the running game and Sanchez look better with Mangold in there.....

Eric Smith is ****, he can put a good hit and thats about it, we go into the half with alot of momentum, only to see it go to **** cause Smith couldnt help out on coverage, and Welker gets the long rec

i THINK we can turn this around.. the offense looked much better especially with sanchez getting time and I kept an eye on mangold who really controls the middle.. that is what we missed the past two weeks..

Shotty needs to go, the guy is so predictable and we don't go long....

The defense let us down, letting this ben jarvis green clown go for over 100 yards.. we are soft at nose tackle and really slow at safety..

we need to fix this now..

In all fairness, a good part of not stopping the run late had a lot to do with the offense. With all the three and outs early, they were tired in the 3rd and gassed by the 4th. Not to mention, those three and outs gave the Pats some good field position after punting. The defense also gave up bailout penalties on 3rd and long though too. There were also some very dumb mistakes by the defense that allowed huge yardage or scores.

This is a team that played over it's head due to leadership and now all those leadership players are gone and Jets figured they could just go along like nothing happened.

Also, Offensive line and defensive line depth sucks.

Honestly, I think we were all fooled that the Jets were contenders, when they were really just a few pieces away (meaning losing a few pieces) from being a 8-8\7-9 sort of team.

Do they have a big time running back? Not sure. Maybe not.
Do they have a lot of good wide receivers? Well, holmes is very good, Plax may or may not be done, and they had the ghost of Mason and a rookie
Do they have depth on the offensive line? No.
Do they have depth on the defensive line? No.
Do they have anyone who can rush the passer? Not really, except for some designated rusher guy who was cut by the team that drafted him.

Jets biggest issues to me are losing two quality offensive linemen and not replacing them and not having a legimate stud on the defensive line.
