No chance the Jets sign Russell. That's a big joke. I'm hoping they can bring in Matt Moore or Flynn to compete with Sanchez. Our new GM is going to have to be a miracle worker with the cap we have this year. I think it's inevitable that Revis will be traded.

At least Jason and Eric Smith are certain to be cut. There seems to be a wide consensus that Pace and Scott will also be shown the door. I call that addition by subtraction. I'm itching for the draft and hoping the Jets find takers for some of their high priced underachievers.

As the rumors indicated Scott, Pace, Eric and Jason Smith were cut. Josh Baker was also cut.

I just read about those 4 cuts and I was wondering what you guys thought about it? I just got home from football practice and none of the Jets fans there mentioned it, so I'm assuming that they hadn't heard either. I'm a 49ers fan but I have a lot of love for the Jets. I'm hoping for a rebound season from them.

The released guys were all pretty obvious moves. If any of them can contribute to a team, it's Eric Smith as a Special Teams expert...but we were paying him like a starting Safety which he was not.

Any news on restructured contracts? We need more space.

So the Jets saved 31M with all those cuts. How much of that 31M can they use to sign players?

If they can use all 31M, is that not enough?

we wont know until the salary cap numbers comes out, its projected to be 122M, we started the off-season about 21M over the cap so I'm guessing maybe 9-10M in cap space before more cuts and restructured deals

I've seen projections as low as 5.1 million and as high as 10 but I don't really know for sure. Either way, they have a LOT of empty roster spots to fill and they're gonna need a lot more money to fill all the holes.

E.J. Manuel to the Jets

Post#52 » by crorevis3124 » Tue Feb 26, 2013 1:15 am

In my opinion we should draft E.J. Manuel in the second round if Eddie Lacy weren't available, if E.J were available.

Ian Rapoport reports it'll be at $123.

Garrard is officially a Jet...Looked solid on Hard Knocks...woulda been starting over Tannehill.

Anybody but Sanchez works for me. Garrards talented. Lets just hope that, at 35, he can stay healthy the entire season.

The Bucs deal I read that the Jets want is a duplicate of what Seattle gave up...1st and 7th this year, a 3rd next year. That'd give us the 13th pick this year, but the Bucs want to deal next year's 1st instead. I think I'd prefer that honestly.

If the Jets accepted next year's number one as part of the package, what would the premium in this year's picks look like?

Looks like Revis to Bucs is all, but done. Sucks we have to face him Week 1.
