OT: Jets First Preseason Game Tomorrow

I told myself after that horrid loss to the Seahawks last year that I am done with the Jets. Even the Knicks dont get me as upset as the Jets do.

But once again, the Jets pulled me back in. I loved their offseason this year, despite losing Coles.

Rex Ryan is a great personality and will force the issue unlike the conservative Mangidiot. I hated every game last year when we came out rugged on defense and grabbed a big lead, only to give it up in the second half because Mangini played a "prevent" D. Everyone knows the prevent D only prevents you from winning! But Ryan was an excellent hire, the 3-4 has been implemented for the past few years no need to change it up...and he's one of the best defensive minded coaches in the game.

Mark Sanchez is in the mold of a future superstar. Not going to get into the football aspects as to why...he just has that "it" factor about him. I have very high hopes for Sanchez.

Improved D. Scott, Leonard and Sheppard were all GREAT additions to the Jets D. If Jenkins can stay healthy, this defense is honestly one of the top defenses in the game. Revis is a star, a top 3 cornerback in the game. And Rhodes will have another stellar year.

I dont think that this is the year the Jets will make noise...but playoffs are not out of the question. This team with Sanchez at the helm can compete for a long time. I like the direction the Jets took this year. Im glad Farve is gone. Just wish Coles stayed around for one more.

first of all deal isnt even signed yet. secondly, he is a new york quarterback that has proven he can get his team to the superbowl,. thirdly we have always made the playoffs with him starting full seasons. fourthly youre paying sanchez 60 with 28 guaranteed and he hasnt played a down in the nfl, we're paying eli 97 with 35 guaranteed and hold his marketing rights.

Well first off, Sanchez got about the same amount of guaranteed money, which is really what makes up a contract in the NFL. And he hasnt thrown a pass, while Eli has won a championship.

Second of all, you contradict yourself within 2 sentences LOL That's just pathetic. This is when you know someone isnt worth talking to.

alright heres my opinion on that...Like i said in a previous post you guys HAVE THE BEST DEFENSE and THE BEST O LINE to go along with one of the top recievers in PLAX and a real good running game, i really think having that around eli is the reason you won the superbowl...Im just not sold on eli as much as i am the team around him and now without plax i just have doubts...maybe he will prove me wrong but for now i dont like eli..

Yea, he has a great size and a good head. But he played against lower level competition, and supposedly is slow off the line. However he has all the natural tools you need in a wr, so you never know

Look for Shonn Greene to be a special player for the Jets this season. i've heard nothing but good things about him from the Bloggers covering the team during camp

hobojoe, stop it. SS is great and will average around 70-80 catches, but as of right now he isnt better than cotchery. After this year its very possible. Both are within the chains type of the receivers. Both are solid number twos, sucky number ones. And most importantly both catch everything and find ways to get open.

yea, another thing i was very surprised at Nicks Height he was being advertised as a big wideout before the draft and i thought he was like a big reciever 6'3-6'2 type wideout but what is he listed at???

People forget that Eli has the no. 1 passer rating in the last 4 minutes of a game with his team losing/tied. Thats someone I want on my team.

SLEEEEEEEEPER!!!!!! everyone is saying this, best pure rb that came out of the draft, the video i have watched of this kid i mean hes a freakin bowling ball and never goes down after the first hit....Im pretty excited about him im not going to lie, I also hope danny woodhead (the waterbug) gets some reps as well...Kid bulked up to 200 pounds this year

He's 6-1, but he is build like a rock (no homo), and has a crazy wingspan. Here's an article about Crabtree and arm length. NIcks would be 2nd on that list if he was listen. Barden would be first:

On the Cotchery-Steve Smith debate....

They are both solid #2's, but Cotchery can get by as a #1 (although he's not) simply because of his YAC. Steve Smith is more of a possesion receiver, he moves the chains with big catch after big catch. I love Smith as a player, but he isnt fit for a #1 gig. He's the Toomer to Eli's Plax.
