Can you imagine the Jets vs Alabama or Texas A&M? LAWL ~ LSU would eat this team for lunch.

just look at who they lost on offense and defense from 2012 and how can anyone sit here with a straight face and say that the roster has improved?

Even the Jaguars/Raiders would cream the Crimson Tide.

At least on the defensive side, they clearly improved to anyone that is a die hard Jets fan and sat through the garbage play last year. On offense, it's possible that they've improved but not by much...They have better RB's for sure, the young WR's are hopefully improving and the O-line's depth is better for sure but all of that pales in comparison to the whole "We have a real OC this year!" excitement.
The other thing to bare in mind is that the big names they lost either didn't play or were ineffective. Keller was injured nearly all season, same with Pouha and Revis is obvious...so acting like any of those guys being gone makes this team worse than last year is kind of a strawman's argument when they contributed so little. The biggest losses were the two safeties (in comparison to last year, not career trajectory or an all healthy scenario).

All of this. Thank you for pointing out how much of a strawman people are putting up when it comes to "defense took a hit". We didn't have Revis for 99% of the year, Pouha did not deliver, DeVito was slow as molasses, and the beat goes on. We've upgraded, clearly, on the defensive side of the ball simply by staying healthy. Now can I say the same week 4? Who knows. But having guys on the field that can match the little production we got last season from the guys mentioned, that's a win.
Call me crazy too, but Winslow is going to be an upgrade over Keller simply, like I said, because he'll probably be on the field. Apparently he's looked pretty good in camp, better than years past. I think he knows this is it for him. I can see him producing in the WCO and landing a nice 2-3 year deal with us afterwards. I also think having Braylon for a full season will help the run game. Say what you want about the guy, but in week 17 last year, he was still blocking like a beast.

Agree with everything except Braylon...I think Stephen Hill and Clyde Gates will be the deep threats ahead of Braylon who might not even make the team.
