I posted this on the J-E-T-S thread but I'm gonna repost what I think should be the gameplan. And for some reason it got wiped off the face of the Earth so:

Crumble the pocket on Ben

Watch the DB blitzes,

Blow up the O line.

Go for Ben's legs.

We have to establish some type of running game. Same thing was said about the Colts defense and stopping the run but our oline was still able to handle them and we had a good game on the ground.

Hope Revis and Bart are alright.

I'm a Giants fan and I hate the Jets. But it'll be nice and about time that you guys taste success like we did a couple of years a go and many other times....best of luck to the Jets and their fan base.

Pass the ball with the utmost efficiency.

Stop Mendenhall.

Take out Big Ben at all costs.

Do another celebration that will make me laugh at the ironic humor (Shonn Greene "Goodnight, Patriots")

I'll be happy we even made it this far...

If Rex can come up with the perfect game plans two weeks in a row against two first ballot HOF-ers (Manning and Brady), I'm optimistic that he can come up with one for Rothlesburger and the Steelers.

Go Jets!

why crumble the pocket when Ben is a better passer on the run than when he is in the pocket?

as i said in the other thread, trying to run against PITT in the POs is a fruitless exercise, they will stop it, they havent allowed a 100 yd rusher in the POs in a long time

the way to beat PITT is to take on their DBs, Brady did it, the Bills too (but johnson dropped the gw td pass).

Well it's not as if our, or any, defensive line is not going to pressure him. I think the key is the same as this week: maintain consistency on disguising coverages and blitz schemes as well as having solid penetration by our defensive line (and Pittsburgh's protection did not look good this week). Our secondary just needs to keep up the excellent play. We also can't miss tackles.

In all fairness, they haven't really faced a solid running game (by one or by committee) in the playoffs during their run. By all means, that doesn't mean they're just an average run defense team, but I don't think we should abandon the run game altogether. I'm confident (and gaining each week) Sanchez will make some big plays to keep their defense honest against our run as long as his protection holds.

They should be fine. They both came back into the game against the Pats. Pool looked like his injury hurt the most of the three, but he also came back in.

You know who is the X factor on Sunday? Keller. He was pretty quiet last night and if he steps it up the O can score with more ease.

Can't go away from the run though or Harrison and Woodley will be unleashed. We ran fairly solid on them the last time and they are missing Aaron Smith in there. Sure, it seems like Mission Impossible but I think the Jets know a few things about that.

The Jets are who they are and they will not change now. We will run, we will be selective with Sanchez and we will rely heavily on our defense. Pittsburgh will try to outphysical us but I dont see anyone doing that with these Jets.
Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things. And no good thing ever dies...

yea i understand that, they have all the advanced scouting and what not

and we can go back and forth all day long

but for me, the bottom line is Id much rather take my chance with their DBs than any other component of their defense...obviously run the ball to keep em honest, but if NYJ is going to win this, it will be via the air....we shall revist this Sun night I suppose :)

Revis is playing Ward and Cro is playing Wallace. Bad idea. Hines is shorter and slower so I'd put Cro on him and Revis on Wallace.
