The offense has been so ugly that I think this season was gonna be shot anyway...but this is just brutal, I'm already praying for a really high draft pick now.

Revis is the glue of the team. I really think the Jet's should tank and rebuild with the young pieces they have.

EDIT: I am overreacting. Jets are 2-1. That is not bad at all. Especially since two of those wins are division wins. The Patriots are off to a bad start as well.

The New York Jets should at least play half the season before deciding if they want to tank.

New QB - cause dear lord Mark Sanchez is not a starting QB on a team that plans on being taken seriously.
New RB - Shonn Greene can't possibly be anymore invisible...can he?

And the combination of a QB that can't get any sort of air game going consistently and a running back that can't average but 3 yards per carry on the ground is basically the worst combo you can possibly have. If they actually had a RB that can do some damage then Sanchez being ho-hum wouldn't matter as much and you can win that way (and vice versa). But with both looking like pooo...it's going to put too much pressure on the defense (which also has sucked) to win games.

New coaching staff - Rex Ryan may have worn out his welcome. A

Tanking would be a good idea. How do the top QB or RB prospect look? Geno Smith? Matt Barkley? Not sure if there are any highly ranked game changing potential RB's projected. Maybe go with that Mingo the Merciless guy who could turn out to be a Jevon Kearse like nasty boy. Aside from the obvious the Jets just need more talent and Mingo some believe projects early on to be the most talented player in the draft.

OT: the Jets should tank this season

Post#11 » by The Boss Speaks » Tue Oct 9, 2012 12:50 am

I know we digging a hole for them way to early but hey; their top two playmakers are done for the year...and the quarterback duo of Tebow and Sanchez doesn't inspire much!

i think is time for them to think about taking the year and then go after Gino Smith in this year's draft! they could also do something about that sorry ass passrush!!!

Their best playmaker hasn't gotten a chance to really play yet.

Tough schedule, injury riddled team (Revis, Holmes, Hill, Keller, Pouha...wtf) and an O-line that is underachieving for a pair of average at best Backs...This isn't gonna be pretty. I'd like to see them play competitive games right now, but if he they start to fall behind and take more losses...yeah I wouldn't mind tanking and gunning for improvements next season. Tannenbaum needs to draft better though.

The Jets have a lot of issues and they have addressed none of them.

Their biggest mistake was making a weak attempt at ruling the backpage.

Tebow lays it in Hill's hands and he drops it... It's only a matter of time Jet fans before the keys to the car are handed to Tebow.

There is no doubt about it that Tebow throws a better long ball than Sanchez.

Don't look now, Sanchez just threw a beauty...and another one for a TD.

I saw that... He stepped up out of the pocket nicely.. I'm just afraid it only delays the inevitable.

The issue with Sanchez was his sample size coming out of college was so small that you didn't get to really evaluate his QB abilities fairly.. at least from a fans perspective. But I have no doubt in my mind that Tebow is a better QB just because Sanchez isn't that good.

Now I wanted to like Mark being Latino/hispanic myself but it just doesn't look like he either takes the position seriously enough or he was never that talented to begin with.

I think Sanchez has been a serious victim of something similar to Melo (my sports philosophies are consistent even across sports  ) In essence, you've got a guy who had no O-line last year and no weapons this year. He'd have to be INCREDIBLE to make this corps looking anything outside of pedestrian.

Now to be completely fair, I think the beating he took last year has led to rushed reads and throws this year and boosted his inaccuracy...I'm hoping he can calm the hell down and get his head together. He is capable of still being a good, not great but good, QB in this league. Tebow, on the other hand, is a horrendous QB. It's masked when you only see him throw once every 30 snaps, but watching him in preseason was enough for me to know which QB is better.

Tebow going no huddle in the spread with the clock winding down is unbelievably tough to stop (ask Chicago, SD, minny, Oakland and KC). Now he may be a bad QB but he's a tremendous football player.
