Not even considering running on 3rd and short. You could say it's weird playcalling, but this Jets o-line isn't blocking well. Kind of uninspiring play on both sides of the ball. On defense, there's no pressure on Bradford, blown coverage in the secondary that could've led to huge gains had it not been for drops, and they can't tackle (not even talking about just Sproles's punt return).
This game was puzzling. Not having Decker and Ivory was huge, but we should be able to beat this eagles team without them. The turnovers were ridiculous. Brandon marshall made a huge mistake, but I have a problem with Fitzpatrick not being able to throw deep. twice smith has the beat on his defender and the ball is underthrown. How do you get intercepted twice by a trailing defender on a bomb? you should be leading the receiver.
Also why punt to Sproles, you knew your defense was good enough to shut their offense down, so why give them any means to score points?
Ryan matthews 100+ yards? the defense should be taken to the woodshed for that.. a lot of times we got penetration, but let him run right by, just not good execution at all , on both ends of the ball..
