Is Vilma still available?

With the recent cutting of Al Wilson from the Broncos, I was wondering if Vilma was still being shopped. I heard earlier this offseason that you guys would move him if the right deal came along.

If he is what would you guys ask for him? A 2nd Rounder and a 3rd Rounder?

I don't think the Jets are looking to move Vilma or would give him up for anything less than a top notch package. He is the typical Mangini player - smart, a leader, hard worker and high character guy - and he stands for everything that our team is standing for last season. Even though he had trouble adjusting to the 3-4, we need to see him behind a better defensive line and with more size next to him at LB. The Jets won't move their defensive captain in my opinion...

That's exactly what I thought before we released Al...

Vilma would be the ideal MLB for us so hypothetically if you were gong to move him would our 1st and a future 2nd get him?

If you believe the rumors the Lions offered the second overall pick for Vilma and the 25th pick. There is not a chance the Jets would move him for a late first rounder and a future second.

The thing with Wilson came down to finances, getting Bly, Graham and Henry cost the Broncos. Thus Wilson was the victim.

Really? Was that indeed the rumor? If so, from the Jets standpoint, I'd think you'd have to consider it.

You'd have to do more than consider it, you'd have to take it.

What pick at number two even makes sense for us? Really its not worth giving up our defensive leader in Vilma.

True, if we did have the 2nd pick, I wouldn't know who to take...

If we were to do that deal, the 2nd pick would be CALVIN JOHNSON.

Imagine doing a 3 WR set with Johnson, Cotch and Coles. *DROOLS*
