Got this from a different Jets web site:
Mangini:
"We really like a lot of the defensive linemen in this draft. If Carriker is there in the early 20's we may trade up to get him."
Totally fine with that, Carriker is perfect for our system and would be a great addition to our team.
Tannenbaum also said that they would like to do something about the CB situation and that they would dump Barrett in a second (not sure if I got that right). Revis and Ross would be good value in the first round according to Tannenbaum. I don't like to hear that, I would much rather grab a cornerback later and let Mangini work on him than waste a high pick on not surefire guys.

They also hinted that they aren't high on Pozluzny from Penn State and Greg Olsen from the U. Said they wouldn't be a good fit for their program and system.
But REMEMBER
it's Mangini and Tannenbaum we are talking about here, they like to keep people in doubt and I wouldn't be surprised if all these things are just smokescreens...

I watched the whole (41 minute) press conference on the jets' official site.
They pretty much said Carriker was the perfect prospect. I can't remember which one said it, but he said something about the character side of Carriker being as close to flawless as possible. Unfortunately I just don't think we've got enough picks/ tradeable players to make such a move without really hurting ourselves in other ways (not enough picks, losing a key player, etc).
In regards to Greg Olsen, where did you get the information from saying that they hinted that they weren't interested? Was it just from a poster somewhere else or what? Unless it was a very subtle hint, I didn't pick up on it. This is from the transcript of the interview, found on the jets' site:

Thats fine and all for me, but I dont think there is a chance he makes it to the early 20's. I mean his workouts just pushed him so high, that Im shocked if he is there at 20.

I sense big time smokescreen here. Both those guys would fit very well with the type of defense that the Jets were running late last season and both play a style that Mangini stresses.

In my opinion Pozluzny is a very good LB but he is too small for the 3-4 defense. We have someone like him in Vilma already and we better make sure we get bigger guys in there or we will continue to struggle against the run.
Olsen doesn't block very well and that is one of Mangini's top priorities on offense, that his players have to block well.

i dont like Pozluzny that much , i agee that he is very much like Vilma(but not good as Vilma is)
how about Jarvis Moss?
after the NCAA championship game people were talking about him like a top 10 pick, now he is not even in the first round in most mock drafts
what heppen to him? was he that bad in the combine and persoanl workouts?

I think there are major questions about his character, I'm not sure though...
