Potential Jets Depth Chart

Post#1 » by Jose7 » Sun Apr 29, 2007 12:44 pm

Offense
QB: Chad Pennington - Kellen Clemens - Brad Smith - Marques Tuaisosopo
RB: Thomas Jones - Leon Washington - Chris Houston - Derrick Blaylock
FB: Darian Barnes - James Hodgins
TE: Chris Baker - Sean Ryan - Justin Dearth
WR: Laveranues Coles - Justin McCareins - Wallace Wright
WR2: Jerricho Cotchery - Justin McCareins - Brad Smith
RT: Anthony Clement - Adrian Jones
RG: Brandon Moore - Adrian Jones
C: Nick Mangold - Wade Smith
LG: Pete Kendall - Wade Smith
LT: D'Brickashaw Ferguson - Adrian Jones

- Solid. solid, solid offense. We clearly need help on the offensive line. Rumors are that Pete Kendall is being shopped which is not a bad idea because of his age. We can get some good value for him.

- We also need a 3rd WR. JMac is just bad, flat out bad. We need someone who can burn CBs in this league and spread the field.

- Our Running game is much better then it has been the past couple of years. We have a bruiser, legit Pro Bowl type back in TJ then we have a speedy, home run hitter in Leon. This duo will give us a great change of pace offense as well as take a lot of pressure off of Chad.

Defense
DE: Shaun Ellis - Michael Haynes - Andre Wadsworth
NT: Dewayne Robertson - Kimo von Oelhoffen
DE: Kenyon Coleman - Michael Haynes - Andre Wadsworth
OLB: Victor Hobson - David Bowens - Cody Spencer
ILB: Jonathan Vilma - Eric Barton - Brad Kassell
ILB: David Harris - Eric Barton - Brad Kassell
OLB: Bryon Thomas - David Bowens - Matt Chattam
CB: Andre Dyson - Hank Potear - David Barrett
CB: Darelle Revis - Justin Miller - Drew Coleman
S: Kerry Rhodes - Rashad Washington
S: Erik Coleman - Eric Smith

- Clearly improved secondary and run defense with the additions of Kenyon, Bowens, David Harris and Darrelle Revis. We still need a pass rusher but the amount of depth we have on our team now is very solid.

Special Teams
P: Ben Graham
K: Mike Nugent
PR: Darrelle Revis
KR: Justin Miller

- One of the best in the league, no doubt about it.

Very good post! We also have a very young team which is great. Of course there are holes left such as offensive line and a pass rusher but we clearly took a step forward from last season...

I think the additionof Harris is going to unleash the beast in JV51 in 2007.

Good post.

Who else would like to see Clemens get some starts this year?

I also would like to see Brad Smith beat out McCariens for that 3rd wideout spot.

I would like to see JMac packaged with the 6th or 7th to move up in the 2nd day to draft an offensive guard.

No to Clemens, I feel Chad has a good 1 or 2 years left in him even though his arm sucks, he is one of the highest IQ players in the leauge.

If Chad is getting is some rests then I'd start Clemens, e.g.last game of the season, other than that then no.

I'd love to see Brad Smith become our third receiver, I'm kinda impressed with him and hope he does beat out JMac(if we keep him, hopefully we trade for a pick though).

The holes that we have can be filled in next year, as yes they are holes but not glaring holes, hopefully the pass-rusher can come next year in the first round, then the OT and the OG. Although would love to get an OG in this years draft, hopefully we can get a 4th or 5th round pick to get someone.

Let's predict where these guys can end up:

Kendall: Raiders or Texans(both need help in the O-Line)
Justin McCariens: Chiefs, Titans, Raiders
Eric Barton: Texans, Chiefs, Arizona, NO
