It is almost similar to when we drafted Chad Pennington and he played three seasons behind Testaverde. However my question is, how long is your leash with Pennington before you hand the reigns over to the preseason surprise?

Me personally I think your crazy if you think Clemens should be starting with a healthy Pennington.

Me personally, he should be challenging the moment we miss the play-offs, which I think could be this year or the next.

Trust me. Chad will not stay healthy much longer.

When he goes down, Clemens steps in and Chad and his noodle arm will be holding the clipboard.

I don't think we should make too much of preseason form. If Chad stinks it up in the regular season... then maybe we should look to change. We got to the playoffs with him last year though, and we can do it again if he has a few more games like he did against the Titans/Packers/Vikings and a few less like he had against the Browns/Jaguars/Bills (2nd time).

Remember that Clemens has been impressive against lesser competition, and in the case of last week, I wouldn't say he was all that impressive anyway. McCareins made him look good with his TD run.
