Excellent pick, athletic freak who can get down the field and make plays for us on offense...

Mo, I overreacted on the JI forum but it seems like everyone loves the pick from ESPN Radio and on ESPN.

Yeah, I saw you freak out on JI.

I think it's a good pick although all signs point to Penny starting the season at QB. That's not good.

Could be one of the most athletic guys in the draft. He's got to up his blocking though.

Great pick. I like it.

...And with that pick, our day's done. See you all tomorrow.

Personally I dont like this pick at all, I thought we were going to get Phillips ahead of the Giants. Keller is a great pass catching tight end, but we have two of those already. Gholston and Phillips would have rounded out the defense perfectly.
Jazz: Under reconstruction, we'll be back.

No we don't. Franks at this point in his career is here to be a blocker, no more no less. And Baker isn't even close the athlete Keller is. We are talking about Antonio Gates athletisism here, he is just nasty... I saw many Big Ten games last year and Keller really looked outstanding. Check out some of his highlight reels, he's a big target and he can stretch the field vertically. We will play him in the slot pretty often I guess. He can't be covered by a LB and he will only make Cotch and Coles much more valuable.

^Yeah, I'm kinda hoping that would be that situation. Coles and Cotch at WR, Keller at the slot and Baker at TE.

Well if combine results are an indicator the Jets tapped out going with two of the guys that impressed most during combines. Super explosive athletes is what the Jets drafted with Gholston and Keller.

You kidding? He ran his big mouth off and Tangini takes NOTHING from NO ONE. He's a goner by tomorrow. I really expect us to get a day 2 pick for him.

Keller's an excellent pick for the Jets and gives them both a guy with some serious upside AND someone that fits the needs of this team given their quarterback options.

Keller is the biggest gamebreaking TE in this draft and is able to create separation after a catch against the safeties and linebackers that he'll likely be seeing coverage from.

Has great hands and is an excellent red zone player to go with being one tough assed guy.

With his great athletic ability I think the Jets are expecting him to fill out somemore and be more of a force blocking though obviously catching the ball and than creating something out of it will be his bread and butter.

I never had a problem with Keller at all really, is what just the fact that we moved up and got him over a player I thought would of helped us more. It gives Pennington/Clemens a great safety net and brings some much needed athleticism that our offense needed. Its hard to say that he will make an impact for us because of how we use are tight ends or should I say lack of using them.
