Nnamdi Asomugha 3 years $45.3 Million

Post#1 » by HMFFL » Thu Feb 19, 2009 11:41 pm

The Raiders have agreed to terms with cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha on a $45.3 million, three-year contract that would make him the highest-paid defensive back in NFL history.

Realgm has it up now

I'm glad Nnamdi is still part of the team but I didn't expect him to get this amount of money.

I'm pretty sure that amount of money is what kept him here, haha.

But I dont care. Nnamdi is my favorite player, so I'm thrilled he's staying in the Bay.

EDIT: HMFFL, what boxing match is your avatar of?

They had to do it. You have to keep AwesomeWah, and they knew he wasnt going to stay for loyalty's sake. I'm shocked that a) they went that high, and B) that AwesomeWah took the offer.

This keeps our relatively solid 1/2 CBs (AwesomeWah/Chris Johnson) locked up... CJ's likely to stay as well - I have a direct connect to them, and all signs are that he'll be a Raider come the beginning of the season.. I also have it on good authority that the Raiders will NOT be looking to address their WR situation in the draft (on day 1, at least) and will be looking to see who they can acquire in free agency.

I personally think they only really need one big name reciever (Boldin? The Cards will need another back - Fargas - and we could pair that with a 2nd/3rd rounder) and should focus the rest of their money on rebuilding their O-line and focusing on our run game w/McFadden and Michael Bush.

Well, the Raiders better be 100% sure that they can get a LEGIT receiver in free agency then if they aren't going to get one during the early rounds of the draft. There is some really good WR talent, especially in the first round, so it would be bull to pass it up and then miss out on free agency.

We cant go into next season with the same receiving corp. Russell needs some help.

I doubt the Raiders will any enough money to make a run at top FA while the Purge that's going on next year is finally a true rebuilding year the way it should be done I'm so used to our rebuilding years meaning were signing 6 or 8 FA that are washed up and get top dollar from Mr Davis maybe he fell of his walker and saw the light finally
