Raiders agreed to terms with franchise player SS Tyvon Branch on a four-year, $26.6 million contract.
The deal includes $17.1 million guaranteed. Branch was set to count $6.2 million against the salary cap under his franchise tender, but that number will certainly be much lower now. The Raiders reportedly entered the week less than $1 million under the cap. A 16-game starter each of the past three seasons, Branch has excelled in run support, notching at least 104 tackles every year since 2009. He graded out as Pro Football Focus' 20th best safety in 2011. An ascendant player, Branch is expected to have an expanded role in new coach Dennis Allen's defense. rotoworld.com

This is a good deal for the raiders; considering how productive Branch has been. He is definitely one of the best safeties in Football.
